Sisters, after you give birth to a baby, can you put up with not showering and washing your hair for one month?
Some replies to the above post....

The doctor says you can take a shower after one week
Ò»ÖÜÏ´Í·£¬Á½ÖÜÏ´Ô裬ÎÒÊÇÕâÑùµÄ¡£
Wash your hair after one week and take a shower after two weeks, that's what I did.

My mother definitely won't let me take a shower or wash my hair for one month. She already said so. It's so terrifying just to think about that.

My mother will not let me wash my hair either. They say you will not feel any difference now [if you wash your hair] but when you are old, you will have problems like headaches. |

Here's another one from the same site....
Subject:
Çë½Ì¸÷λ׼ÂèÂ裬»³ÔÐÆÚ¼äÕæµÄ¿´µçÊÓÒª½ûÖ¹Âð?
I want to ask every expecting mother, should watching TV while pregnant be forbidden?
СŮ×Ó»³ÔÐÒÑ2¸ö¶àÔ£¬¿´ÁËÏà¹ØÊ鼮˵Ôи¾²»ÄÜ¿´µçÊÓ£¬ºÃÏñ˵ÒòΪµçÊÓ»ú²¥· ÅʱÆÁÄ»»áÎüÊÕ¿ÕÆøÖÐÒõÀë×Ó£¬¶øÕâ¸ö¶«¶«¶ÔÔи¾ÊǺÜÖØÒªµÄ£¬È±·¦µÄ»°ºÜÈÝÒ×µ ¼ÖÂÌ¥¶ù»ûÐλò¸ßÁ÷²úÂÊ¡£
ÇëÎÊ×¼ÂèÂèÃÇʵ¼ÊÉÏÊDz»ÊÇÕæµÄÕâÑù°¡£¿Õâ¸ö´©·À·øÉä·þҲûµÃÓõİ¡!
I have been pregnant for more than 2 months now. I read some books that said pregnant women shouldn't watch TV because when the TV is on, the screen will absorb the negatoive ions in the air, which are extremely important for pregnant women. If you don't get enough [negative ions] the baby will be deformed or the chance of miscarriage will increase a lot. I want to ask all mothers to be, is this true? So is it no use even if I wear an anti-radiation jacket?
Some great replies to the above post follow.....
»³ÔÐÔçÆÚÓ¦¸Ã¾¡Á¿ÉÙ¿´µçÊÓ£¬ÉÙÉÏÍø£¬¶øÇÒ×îºÃ´©ÉÏ·À·øÉäÒ£¬µÈµ½ÖÐÍíÆÚ±¦±¦ ³¤½áʵÁË£¬¾Í¿ÉÒÔ·ÅÐÄÒ»µãÁË£¬µ«Ò²²»Òª¹ý¶È£¬±Ï¾¹±¦±¦½¡¿µÊÇ×îÖØÒªµÄ¡£
In the early stages of your pregnancy, try to limit your exposure to the TV and computer and wear your anti-radiation jacket. When in the the middle and late stages of pregnancy, the baby will be bigger and you can relax. But you shouldn't overdo it because the health of the baby is most important.
¿´°É,ÎÞËùν,×øÔÂ×Ó²»¿´¾Í¿ÉÒÔÁË!
it's Ok to watch TV but don't watch it in the one month after you give birth!
[note: the chi knees believe that the woman is vulnerable in the one month after giving birth and shouldn't do anything that might endanger her short and long term health. eg. watching TV or reading within one month after childbirth is thought to affect the mother's eyesight later in life] |

It's great to see that common sense and logic apparently plays no part in CHinese healthcare.
It's like Chinese Traditional Medicine - all that tiger urine and rhinocerous horn and frog bladder and god knows what else they are hunting to exinction but beleive will cure every ailment despite zero scientific evidence.
By the way, on the subject of childbirth, when my friend here was pregnant, she went to a Chinese hospital for some tests. It turned out there was some sort of infection in the placenta or something like that. The doctor gave her a prescription and sent her home. WHen my friend was at home and about to take the prescription, she got a bit suspicious and called her doctor back home in the States. It turned out the prescription was for an abortion pill. SHe freaked out (obviously didn't take the pills) and went to yell at the CHinese doctor the next day. The doctor was surprised and said that was the normal procedure here if there was a slight problem with a fetus. My friend went to Hong Kong to see a Western doctor, and ended up having a perfectly healthy normal baby.
I guess when you can only have one kid, you don't mess around no matter how cold hearted it could be. And that includes television radiation.
PS I am writing this while watching TV and I'm three months pregnant. I don't need a radiation vest but I"d sure love some garment that thwarts all the usual smells and sounds of this loathesome city that make me want to wretch more than normal. |

Is this serious? Post more of this sort of stuff, very interesting.
Anyway, how long have TV's been in China? Maybe 25/30 years? So this is a relatively recent old wives tale? |

This is real.
Chi knees women believe that they should cut their hair after they get pregnant and not wash it after giving birth for one month (or shower) because it would weaken their body if they don't. They believe all sorts of shiit. Even 25 year old Shanghaineze women believe this sort of crap.
Maybe lemongrass and other Chi knees women posting on this site can tell you more.
I will post more chi knees bbs stuff when I get a chance to browse their forums again. |

Those posts are bizarre. It never ceases to amaze me how soft and superstitious people in Asia and Europe are. That's why Britain won the war, it boils down to the fact that we are tougher people. |

but anyway. reading these translated posts does make WSL seem like a genius. i understand why he thinks he is so smart now. |

i don't want to discount british achievments. i was just saying it wasn't only them in the war. several other countries were there and quite frankly, you would be speaking German now if those other countries weren't there to help. |

That is very debatable considering Britain had air superiority after winning the Battle of Britain and we won the North Africa campaign single handedly. Hitler never really wanted to fight the British anyway, it was us who declared war on him. If there wasn't a big choppy sea in between England and the rest of Europe history would be very different. Plus they bombed our chippy.
And by Britian continuing the fight we were taking valuable German resources away from the Eastern front and thus providing the Russians with a not so invincible opposition so they could launch and succeed in their counter offensive.
What you probably forget is that Britain declared war on Germany and Britain stood alone whilst all of Europe was crushed under Hitler's boot and the Russians and Americans hadn't even entered the war. And we were there to finish it. The British utterly destroyed Germany after Col. 'Bomber' Harris ordered a thousand bombing raids on German towns and cities. These were nightly bombing raids. From what i gather The Americans insisted on flying daylight raids and didn't have a great deal of success.
All that being said the American did save our arses and Churchill was delighted the japanese bombed Pearl Harbour. |

I have heard of this tradition and know at least three women who have done it. Most of them are younger and were more or less forced to do it by either the mother in law or mother... none wanted to do it voluntarily. All said they were miserable during the entire process.
sorry for the interruption... |

its always fun to see men discuss these kinds of women's topics. no wonder we think women are strange... obviously the inlaws or mothers seem to believe in this stuff...weird and sad. |

In southern Taiwan (especially more traditional cities like Tainan and Jiayi) it is fairly common for young women to not wash their hair during the period. I know several women from the area who had this habit. They even continued the custom when living by themselves in New Zealand, where they had no interference from relatives or parents. Weird but true.
On the other hand alot of women in Taiwan don't even seem to be aware of the custom. |

Wolfy's posts are always trying to assert the "rest" of us that Britain INDEED is better. "Hey here. HERE! Look! We the UK! Yes, WE ARE GREAT. Yeah really! Yes, up here, look! Look!"
Like trying to prove something, like if he knew nobody respects it as they once did. It's like the old playground discussions of "my dad's car is bigger than yours" kind of discussion. Relevant like dirt under your fingernails.
Well wolfy, Hitler indeed lost the Battle of Britain, thanks for the short range Me109, for Goerings insistence on the Ju87 and the Me110 and other stupid little mistakes. Hitler LOST the Battle of Britain, which doesn't mean that Britain WON it from him. Not taking any merits of "the few", just saying that it is much easier to defend then to attack.
And then you contradict yourself with your air raid thing.
It is not much of a surprise that if you bomb at night that you will have less casualties. The americans, given their massive presence (which by the way saved Britains arses), were the ones doing the hard shiat at daylight. The Tommy boys where safely shielded by the night, without any flak (taken on daylight by americans), etc, etc. So sonny, sorry to break it to you, but if it wasn't Uncle Sam you would never ever win the war alone. But hey, maybe you know more than every single commentator of the war out there.
So, you can't say that "Britain was better in the air raids compared to the US" because they were fighting VERY DIFFERENT battles. I think your post lost credibility precisely in this point and hence became yet another of your vitriols reminding us of how great Britain is. Thanks for reminding us wolfy. Congratulations.
It's funny. People here say that in school the Chinese are not teached all the facts about their their history, but I never heard anyone saying this about the Brits, and here, ladies and gentlemen, we have a textbook case of partiality.
Let me guess your answer: you are gonna ask me "oh but what have you done in the war", like if this suddenly erased any rights on commenting on the points above.
Save your keystrokes. |

That's probably news to all the Indians, Australians, South Africans and yes, even yanks who died on your country's behalf in North Africa. Read some history, for God's sake.
At Tobruk alone there were British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African, East African, West African, Polish, Czech, French and Greek soldiers. They're buried in the war cemetery there.

Ermm... I think you'll find he was Air Marshal Harris - the RAF didn't have the rank of Colonel. Maybe you were thinking of Colonel Hogan from "Hogan's Heroes" or something. For more detail, see here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/harris_sir_arthur_bomber .shtml
And then Chinaski chimes in:

No nighttime flak? Haven't you ever seen any footage of WWII night bombing??? FFS: It was practically a wall of molten metal those guys flew through over the targets - day or night.
See, Henry - you've been "shot down" once again.
And I wouldn't dream of making reference to the fact that the only time the Brazilians faced the Nazis (or any other enemy) was after the war at customs when they were taking pay-offs from war criminals so they could hide out in your country. |

All good points Bluebag, but the Australians, Kiwis, South Africans, Polish etc in North Africa were fighting under British command. |

Pathetic try bluebag. The only thing you suceeded in doing is embarass your poor sorry ignorant yankee ass. Tsk tsk.
Brasil sent thousands of soldiers to northern italy and fought some pretty tough battles in the mountains against seasoned nazi troops. Obviouslly the country's armed forces were small but fought hard, with a lot of its soldiers having a truckload of distinctions and recognized by a lot of their peers are as valuable as anyone else. Obviouslly you dont know the surveillance in the atlantic that Brazil did, or probably you dont know that after the Japanese concquered Malaysia the Allies started shiatting their pants because they had no more access to rubber. Brasil offered material support, logistics support (either via bases or via lending ships), soldiers, etc, etc, etc. Their Kittyhawk squadrons were recognized as some of the best pilots in the European campaign. But of course our smart witty boy bluebag doesnt know about it.
Our expeditionary force served under patton, in case you don't know, and no, you don't know, so, do your research before opening your cakehole.
Who was "shot down now"?
As for the nazis hiding in Brazil, I guess you showed us again how uninformed you are.
Bluebag, my dear yankee boy, I know that they teach you in school that the capital of Brazil is Buenos Aires, but Brazil IS NOT Argentina. They are different countries in case you dont know smart boy. 99% of the Nazis ran to Argentina (a huge sympathizer of the Axis). Did we need to talk about Eichmann? Indeed Mengele was found in Brazil, I give you that. But since you already proven you know shiat about what you are talking about, what difference does it make?
And it was completely new to me that flak precision during the night is the same as during the day. |

Wait: you cracked the enigma my ass.
If it wasnt for the polish "you" would take years more to "crack it".
Of course "you" all romanticized Turing, how a genius he was, how sad it was that he was gay, how he is the father of computing and all the other stories to make "you" feel proud.
But truth is a lot of the code breakers were polish and they handed over a truckload of information about the enigma to "you".
Obviouslly the polish are all but forgotten, same way nobody mentions they contributed with a lot of soliders and vessels on D-day, etc, etc.
It's the usual "history is told by the winners with no compromise to accuracy." |
