well.. you can't really go wrong with any of those airlines. The service is usually quite good at all of them. |

Singapore Airlines by a long shot.
Efficient, friendly service; good food; always on-time or early...
Malaysian has been picking things up in recent years according to friends/family, though I remember flying them a few years back and it was very ordinary. Flew Thai a couple of times last year and it was just O-K.
Unlike the other two, Singapore Air is consistently excellent. Their online booking system is great as well - I just booked a flight this afternoon - comparable prices to agents + reserve your seat/special meals + check-in.
Cheers. |

Singapore Air is my favourite airline in the world. No questions...
Other two are just OK. Similar level.
Tripped! |

From my days as a travel agent, I can confidently say that Singapore is best for economy class.
The only experience I have regarding up front comes from one of our clients. He was booked on Malaysian on First Class from London to somewhere in the Far East (can't recall) but because of a typhoon his flight to KL was cancelled.
Malaysian airlines arranged a flight and connection with Cathay. When his Cathay flight arrived in Honk Kong, it didn't taxi directly to the gate but instead taxied by the connecting Cathay flight that had been held back for him on the taxiway. There were stairs and baggage handlers there so that as soon as his London flight halted, they opened hte door and he just ran down one set of stairs and up another to his outward flight while his bags were transferred for him.
It was pretty much Malaysian airlines that pulled out all the stops and made the arrangements with Cathay (including paying all the additional expenses for delaying the flight). However the irony was that he thought it was Cathay that did it so he vowed to fly Cathay from then on. |

I just went to Singapore for a few days in cattle class. Singapore Airlines is totally awesome. Nice planes, pretty decent room, great in flight entertainment and the air-hostess outfits -- mama mia! |

Thanks all....looks like Singapore Airlines all the way. My personal opinion was that as well, although I've never flown Thai before.
The irony of the whole thing is that it looks like I'll have to settle for Thai Airways. The tickets are purchased by a 3rd party travel agent, who is contracted out by my firm, and they're telling me Thai will be the easiest and most economical option. Oh well, It's a 2-legged Biz class flight into Pudong...so that's some respite!

We booked China Eastern to Bangkok and our outward flight turned out to be on Thai Airways (cause they share). Everything was wonderful the food, the staff, the drinks even down to getting a corsage before alighting. The journey back was a different matter on China Eastern. |
