SXD Episode One: Descendants

The Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing Group will release Episode One: Descendants of Chengdu-based Canadian creator Matt Vegh's SXD: Middle Kingdom sci-fi comic book series this week, with Episode Two: Battle for Shu City to follow in the New Year. Look for these covers in book stores soon.

Post subject: SXD: DESCENDANTS Episode One Coming to Shanghai Soon

The Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing Group released Episode One: Descendants of Chengdu-based Canadian creator Matt Vegh's SXD: Middle Kingdom sci-fi comic book series this week, with Episode Two: Battle for Shu City to follow after Spring Festival.

A huge throng of Comic Book fans gathered in the lobby of the Wuhou book store in Chengdu on New Year's Day to help launch the first episode of a very unique "Chinese" genre of cartoon stories. SXD will be coming to Shanghai before Spring Festival, so have a look in major book store chains. Or check back here at Shanghaiexpat for announcements of Shanghai dates.

Chengdu's Metro Weekly TV host Yang Shaoping interviews Matt Vegh about the launch of SXD. See that story on Metro Weekly Saturday January 7th at 1:30pm and 10:30pm.

Everybody loves a good sci-fi adventure story. These young readers get there first taste of a bilingual cartoon fantasy, which they can read in both their native language and English on the same page, highlighting the educational component unique to SXD comics.
