Post subject: Ask for Help = CAR

Dear friends,

I am student of Tongji University and currently finishing my master thesis. The automotive survey for this project is finally online. Although we have already handed out 5000 flyers, the return rate is somewhat poor. Considering the amount of effort I have put into this work and the amount of expectations my professor has in the number of participants I am almost desperate and would highly appreciate any help to increase the amount of answers.

If you own a car by yourself please go to http://survey.ulfpetersen.com and fill in the survey. Because you do not have an enter code, just click on ¡°begin¡± and confirm that you have a car. The survey takes only 10-15 minutes of your time and will also give you the chance to win an Apple iPod shuffle.

If you don¡¯t have a car, please forward this mail to people who have a car and might want to participate. Please notice that this survey is for Chinese people only and thus only available in Chinese language. For every three persons who participate in this survey and approve that they have done so following your recommendation, you will also get a chance to win the iPod shuffle. If you have a DSL connection, you can also try the C.A.R. Configurator which is part of the survey. Just go to http://survey.ulfpetersen.com press ¡°begin¡± without entering any code and confirm that you only want to try the C.A.R. Configurator. You can use this graphical tool to configure a car according to your personal preferences.

Of course you can also forward this message if you have already participated in the survey and/or to people who do not have a car but might know people who have one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Ulf

This research focuses on Chinese customers only because we are trying to understand certain aspects of developing markets. In these markets, customers appear to have a different level of knowledge and experience with cars and automotive brands. However, this is usually not true for laowai as they are strongly influenced by their experiences in their country of origin. Although this might not be true for every particular case, we still decided to make the questionnaire in Chinese language only. Hope this helps as an explanaition. ulf
