Take it back to where you bought it from and get them to install the firmware in English. After that you can configure the router by opening up the appropriate internal ip address, which I forget off the top of my head. I use http://local router. They may differ. I used to have a TP link router, which is utter crap. I later bought a netgear wireless router. That is much easier to use and configure. I have no problems now.

I usually tell my tech-handicapped friends to never buy ANYTHING without consulting with me first. Either that or I will make time to go with them to buy tech gear. Reason being because I usuallly get hit up when something goes wrong and I have to sit there and fidgit with gear that sucks or doesn't behave the way it should. This is my recommendation for you next time you purchase some tech gear. The saying, "You get what you pay for," is never more true when purchasing tech gear.

I don't recognize the screenshot and would venture to think it's a knock-off router. My recommendation is to take it back and get a netgear or a D-link router (I haven't seen any other reliable brand in China, if you can find a Cisco...) You'll spend more on them, but you'll avoid headaches. I got a D-link DI-624+ (Rev. B) router and the router was already in English, I had purchased a DI-704 and flashed the OS to English with no problems flashing. Only probs I've had is disconnects when I enable too many P2P connections in one go (starting up e-mule) but other than that, it just sits there and does its job.

If you can't return it, then do as matty recommended and have them flash it to an English (or your native language, since it doesn't seem to be English) firmware. If there is no English (or whatever) firmware, then you're at the mercy of Chinese tech-savvy people (is there such a thing) to mess with it every time you want to change a setting, or learn how to do it from them.

Hope this helps,

K-9

Post subject: You f00cking twit!

Jim_cai,

You have GOT to have something VERY serious with your brain. 200RMB is the cost of the stupid router itself!

This is not "a problem", it's a matter of reading Chinese. You can figure it out by having someone who can tell you what the characters mean, after that, do a search on google on how to open ports if you don't know how. It is truly very simple. Hell, I'm willing to do it for free just because I'd rather not see someone screw over someone else and financially benefit from something as trivial as this.

matt1982 (why do people use their birth years for their usernames?) and everyone else that might think this is rocket science, don't be fooled by this crap. Please PM me and I'll help you over the `net.

Damn, shite like this really pisses me off... Chinese people wonder why the most advanced country in the 14th century is now 3rd world "developing" country? Try helping each other out instead of f00cking each other over every opportunity you get. You shouldn't worry about the "evil foreigners" f00king you, you do it to yourselves better than we EVER could.

**** you

K-9

Edit: Sorry for the l337 sp34k, d@mned profanity filter doesn't let me express how I REALLY feel... Twisted Evil
