i found an article about supermarkets in Shanghai, hope it help you:
For Puxi residents the best supermarket is the Carrefour in Gubei - prices are reasonable, and store layout and availability of common items is good. It can get a bit overcrowded though. Shop in off hours - 7pm on a Sunday night is a good time to go. Anytime on Saturday is generally not a good idea...
Pudong residents also have a Carrefour, but the Lotus supermarket in the super brand mall is probably better (although a little pricey).
In general most food can be found here (at a cost).
Bring any cooking ingredients you use (spices, flavourings etc). There is a limited selection here. Bring a can opener that works (or 3 or 4).
Sauces too.
Parksons
The basement of one of Shanghai's most popular department stores contains a huge grocery store which surprisingly stocks most of the imported items featured at more expensive shops such as City Supermarket, but at generally lower prices. The store's size can make specialty items a little hard to find among the packets of freeze-dried chicken feet, but don't let that faze you.

Get them to give you a catalogue. Inside the catalogue, you can order whatever items you want. No more searching instore to see if they have it or not, just phone and order >200 RMB of food from them. Chinese language skills required, although they do have semi english literate speaking staff on the lines if you are desperate!

Two remarks to your list. You seem to have forgotten METRO, which is one of the best.
And Glenmore does not exist anymore. They changed owners and seem to operate jointly with City Supermarket nowadays. |

Cash and carry store. Very nice fruit and vegetables, meats and especially fish are great: nice choice. They also sell wines, TV, Hifi, clothes, domestic appliances and more. Bring a visiting card and a photo (even if they don't always ask for it), they will do a customer card which you present each time you pay. Bring your own bags to carry what you bought or you'll have to buy some at the cashier. Cash only. There's a ATM at the exit of the shop.

Well-known French hypermarket. Large choice of fresh products: meats, fishes (nice variety). They also sell clothes, household equipment, bicycles, computers and more. Very clean and organized. Same kind of store as Carrefour.
The Changyang store covers a superficy of 10,000 sqm on a single floor. Nice shopping gallery. Simple access: Coming from Pudong, it's first exit after the Yangpu Bridge. Due to location, mostly Chinese customers for the moment. The Zhong Yuan store is still under renovation. |
