Post subject: Shanghai Star - the newspaper for Shanghai's white trash

I just come across this crappy newspaper in CoffeeBean. It is much worse that last time I read it, perhaps 6 months ago. They really target the lowest foreign lifeforms in Shanghai, the content is rather amazing. In this issue some middle-age foreign lady write about her first office job experience (ongoing, in Shanghai), they have a Dear Abby colum cut'pasted from the US with a question from a reader in Laredo, Texas, a column by the other idiot whatshername who used to write the snobbish gossip column in ThatsShanghai, and so on, the list is endless. The kind of content your average truck driver's uneducated wife would read back home, or perhaps the grandma who used to work in the flower shop, or the big-breasted waitress at the local bar. What are those people doing here in Shanghai?! This also explains the unbelievable lowering of the level of China Daily and Shanghai Daily, now focusing on reporting gory crimes, advertising massage and other sex delivery services, babies born with 2 heads, extraterrestrial encounters, etc. The scariest of all is all these publications are government-owned and run.

yeah, some of those people will believe anything in print, including conspiracy theories and the like. But many of those ignorant folk are often still nicer people than some of the pompous fools who sometimes try to dictate what we all should believe and such. And far more harmless than some of the people in charge of many nations these days.
