"Kung Fu Panda"
A terminal case of the cutes. I know, it's enormously popular, but so is McDonald’s. |

"The Dark Knight"
Roll up for the dvd. I don't believe there's any way that a film that depicts the assault and collapse of a great city by the forces of unregenerate anarchy will ever be shown in a theater in mainland China, especially in the year of the Olympics. Only incidentally a comic book movie, "The Dark Knight" is first and foremost a killer crime drama, and Heath Ledger has bequeathed to us the most electrifying posthumous performance since "Rebel Without A Cause." |

"The Apartment"
Corporate climber C. C. Baxter lets his boss use his apartment to carry on an affair with the elevator girl that Baxter loves. Directed by Billy Wilder. Perfection. |

Semi-Pro, which is hailed as 'another Will Farrel winner' is just a load of boring crap. And what's with that bloke from OutKast? Does he have no fcking pride? |

"Hellboy II: The Golden Army"
Guillermo Del Toro's follow-up to "Pan's Labyrinth" and lead-in to "The Hobbit" is a visionary fantasy that out-classes "Ironman," "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Dark Knight" combined for delirious effects. From the puppet-show prologue alone you're put on notice: this is the work of an artist, and not just another big-budget installment of some Hollywood franchise (although it's that, too). Fun, freakish, and haunting. |

I'd give it 7.5/10
Fracture - Anthony Hopkins
The main draw, of course, is watching Hopkins and Gosling go at it. And both are more than up to the challenge. 7/10. |

Damn, yes. He is so good indeed. Poor guy. Everything on the table for him, and then... TC-? I vote you for our resident movie critic. Christopher Nolan for VP. A fantastic commentary on society. |
