does anyone know a catholic church in the hongqiao or even gubei area? english service would be a plus, but chinese is fine too. thanks!! |

For English service there's only one Catholic church in Puxi and one in Pudong:
Catholic
Puxi. St. Peter's Catholic Church - 270 Chongqing Nan Road (located between Fuxing Road and Jianguo Road). Phone 6467-8282 or 6474-4974. English Masses for the international Parish are currently Saturdays at 5:00 pm and Sundays at 10:30 am & 12:30 pm, on the third floor of the building. thanks for the info. does anyone know of a chinese catholic church in the hongqiao area then? i'd just like to find a place close by to pray, and i guess language isn't as important. thanks very much. |

The nearest catholic church as far as i know that close to Hongqioa & Gubei area is at No.1 Kele Road (At the junction of Hamid Road & Kele Road). The church conducts chinese mass on every Saturday 4pm. This church is mainly attended by local chinese catholic and i found the church is quite pleasant. Hope this information is useful for catholics stay around this area. |

Anyone got a full list of Catholic churches in Shanghai and more importantly which ones are in commune with Rome and which are, uh, 'locally / governmentally' controlled / censored ? |
