i m very much interested in dance, and learning from a local dance teacher now. Have a lot of fun to dance in the courses , and practise with friend in bar (but i ve no partner). Till now, i ve finished Rumba,Samba, Cha-Cha,Swing and a little Salsa as a biginner.. my opinion, real dance make girl shining like a star in wherever the place is. so i strongly suggest u to give it a try!! and i ll be very happy to join ur girls night out sometimes for dance.

The fact is... two local girls were mistaken for working girls while they were trying to enjoy themselves in a girly bar (maybe they didn't know it was a shady establishment). But I don't blame the bastard who expressed his offensive remarks...what else do we expect? One of the downers of being a young, female asian expat in Shanghai is that uneducated people assume that u are either a chinese bar girl or a chinese golddigger if they see you with foreigners.

My friends and I can now distinguish a bar girl from a hooker and to a regular chica.

However, it still remains that the two 'local' girls were mistaken for bar girls because they were in a bar. If they had been two blondes from europe, this would have never happened.
So next time, avoid girly bars and dodgy places 4 your piece of mind.

Just read this with an ounce of interest. Hmm... two local girls who are aware of 'good' party places, visited judy's (is judy's paying for this kinda publicity?), basically looking to show off their 'fabulous' and 'single' side, got the attention they wanted, but wanna get more attention by complaining about the attention they got. Hmm... think we all (myself included) fell for this cheap ploy.

Yes, I think I am fun and fabulous looking too. And I think I party in a nice, mad way. Yes, I do dress skankily when I am in my party mode. And yes, I do like judy's (but am starting to tire of their music). And yes, I look chinese. Am I a whore? Nope. Do I get mistaken for a whore? Nope.

I like to give the men some credit here and think that they have a 'radar' for such things. Admittedly, these signals are not always reliable/right, but it could have been the vibes that got them confused.

My say is, "treat yourself with respect and others will follow suit."

Well Pheonix, dun be too offended by some of the posts. Think there are too many posers around in the forum nowadays, so easy to be mistaken as one (same case too in the bars and disco places)

Been in Shanghai for 8 months already, pretty nice place, though the 'oldest trade' is pravalent here in pubs and bars in Shanghai, I would believe 'western' countries has been through similar era.

I agree with Sadie, 'treat yourself with respect' and who the hell care what some dodo think about you in the bar or even in forum (myself included), UNLESS you DO want him to think otherwise = ) then that is a different story....

LOL so many responses in just a few days... quickly going through all the replies, phoenix_phoenix can feel her skin is being thickened... no wonder the whole bastard-bar-whore thing... where there is demand, there is supply... I can see the psychological similarities here...

Thanks to those who have offered helpful information, I will consider them all. After all, we are living in a city where there are unlimited options - now we have Pilipino and Thai escorts to compete with locals... growing economies, growing escorts, new economics 101... LOL

Yaps and Pheonix, enjoy your stay here in Shanghai, not all is great, but there are sure plenty of good things around. Some nice pubs, some nice massages, some nice ppl even, expats and locals alike.

- How many actual dates?
