Watch western cartoons dubbed in Chinese. They crack me up. Especially spongebob, I wonder what they call spongebob squarepants in China? Maybe it's along the lines of "yellow soft brick thing in trousers". Anyway, coffee shops and tea houses are a good place to hang out. Instead of alcohol, why not try caffine. Ciao. |

That album says it's at a KTV bar. Maybe I was lied to, but someone told me that a lot of time, if guys go to KTV alone, the bar, um, how to put this delicately... "provides" girls for their amusement. So maybe the girls in those pics *are* actually working girls. |

I don't think the KTV's and Saunas were set up solely for foreigners to come and exploit women. I am guessing that a few local residents might actually visit those places and do some exploiting on their own. Same with the pink light barbershops all over town. |

I think it all depends on how you dress and behave in places. I have travelled in many places and people hit on girls differently.

Sorry for all you girls out there who had bad experiences!!!
There are some good guys in this city (like me and my friends hopefully), but we don't hang out in these kind of establishments (like sketchy saunas, etc.). They are rather frequented by men in their 50s-70s who don't have a shot at a beautiful girl otherwise. That's the same throughout Asia, even more particular in SE Asia (think of Thailand for example).
My advice for you girls would be to chose the place you go out to carefully and go to places that are known to be a little more "upscale"! |

im afraid you will just have to accepted the prevalent culture wher ver you are. Shanghai puts foreigners on a pedestal and the girls all want you t marry them and take them to america, or use you as a status symbol. |
