Post subject: Wedding Photographer

Hi all,

My fiancee and I are coming to Shanghai in two weeks or so for business trip.

We're getting marry in May here in Canada. However, we don't like the wedding studio photographer here so we're thinking we can get some wedding photo done in Shanghai.

Anyone know of any good Wedding photography studio?
And do they have fast service? We're looking to get the picture taken and have photo album, big photo developed and framed in around 8-10 days.

Any help is appreicated.

Thanks Smile

There are a whole bunch of photography studios on Huai Hui Lu. They are going to be very different from what you know in Canada though, at least it was different from anything I have ever seen in the States....

I did mine at Venus on HuaiHai Lu and they were not bad, but I think there are better options around town. They were a bit pricey (by Shanghai standards) and they ignored my requests (specifically- no butchered English in the wedding album!). I found that the initial price of the "package" had a lot of hidden fees and the price we paid was different than what was initially discussed. I think this happens at all the studios, though.

As I recall, it wasn't possible at my studio to have the order rushed and it took 30 days to have it processed- but if you are willing to pay an extra "service charge" then miracles can happen.

Overall, the whole experience was lots of fun and now I have these hilarious wedding albums to keep for all time. How often do I have a chance to dress up as a Manchu princess?

We did ours at Paris on Huahai Zhong Rd 780 and it came out rather fine.
But it was something like 10 hrs, that is a memory by itself.

Hi Lappen,

Yes, I like Paris's work alot.
Can you share some info in terms of their pricing and services?
And more importantly, how long did it take to get everything completed?
What I really want is the big photo framed for me in that 8-10 days as we will be relocating to Shanghai after our wedding. So, I can pick up the others later.

Any contact you got at Paris?

Thanks alot. Smile

This is where i got mine done and all in all it was a reasonable experience with the exception being the 10 hour day getting the pictures taken. I spent some time getting the english removed from the album only to find out when we picked them up that there was a second smaller album and they had snuck the english into it Very Happy .

Do not remember but we added up a lot of more pictures and two big books and like 5 big framed pictures and some other stuff. Ended up at something like 15,000 Rmb. Kept the wife happy Wink Mission accomplished.
Unfortunately I have no name there. We did not negotiate that much.
They added a lot of stuff instead.

15000RMB sounds great. For that amount here in Canada, I can probably get like 1 big framed picture, 1 big and small album... not to mention their style is super old school.

If anyone can provide any contact, it would be GREAT! Smile

at venus it was 1 big album, one smaller(12" by 12"), 1 large framed picture(and i do mean large), 2 framed pictures. there was 6 costume changes and i cant remember the exact price but it was under 6000rmb. there was a cheaper option and also a more expensive option.

if u want a team, who can come to ur place or outdoor to do the photo taking & make up etc (not in an indoor studio), u might wanna try these group I take picture with for my pregnancy. They all came to our house, did the make up and shoots, which was very convenient for me. Price also only RMB 4000. And they developed everything for us within 1 week. PM me if u r interested.

We used Jennifer; got 3 acrylic pictures, one banner picture (for the reception), one large book, 2 smaller books and 1 tiny book - a total of 45 pictures in the books - 4,000 RMB. Plus 2 DVD's - one flash for the reception.

Sorry, don't have a contact name.
