Post subject: Given workplace in Waigaoqiao, school in SAS Pudong..

We have a plan right now before coming to Shanghai for the look-see program. Would appreicate your comment to our prelimentary plan.

Given workplace in Waigaoqiao, school in SAS Pudong and house in Jinqiao. We will have a car and a driver.

Is Jinqiao a good choice to live ?
How long does it take to commute workplace (8-6) and school (9-3:30) every day in considerations of peak and off peak hours as I believe they do hit both?

If Jinqiao is not the ideal place ? Can anyone suggest a good area in Pudong that is more senisble to my given condition.

Thank you in advance.

Many people who work in WGQ live in JQ. With Children, JQ is definitely the most convenient place to live. Many other families, and close grocery shopping, restaurants and green space for sports. Without children, Lujiazui (downtown Pudong)would be a good choice, as there is more nightlife.

Commute to WGQ from Jinqiao is short, by Shanghai standards. Maybe 20 min each way. The bus commute for the kids to SAS PUdong is LONG, no matter where you live, unless you choose to live at Shanghai Links. (Do NOT recommend!) This school's campus is in the middle of nowhere. If you or your spouse is planning on being involved at school, it would mean LOTS of time spent in the car. Have you considered other schools? Concordia is in the heart of Jinqiao, (American curriculum, EXCELLENT school, but I am biased...) as is Dulwich. (British.) It is nice for the kids to live close to their school and friends....

Good luck making your choices!
