Post subject: Validity of Visa?

I need to find out something. My company pays for *my* 1-year visa, but I pay for my family's (yeah, lousy expat package) dependent visas. Our visa are supposed to last us till Feb 07. My current contract terminates in June 06.

I am currently considering an offer, but the company may not start up till about Sep. The boss, however, is prepared to pay my salary from July till Sep, to help him prepare the ground for the startup (which means not even a rep office yet!).

I'm wondering - does anybody here know if my (and my family's) visa would be revoked immediately upon my ceasing employment with the current company? I suspect it to be so - in which case will my family's dependent visas (which I pay for!) be revoked as well?

I just need to stay until Sep, when the plans for the rep office should be finalised!

Grey area. This happened to me on leaving my previous job. The authorities cannot actually tell if you have a job when you exit and re-enter the country. Offically the visa should be revoked but that means handing over the passport and someone taking them down to the visa office to be overstamped 'cancelled'. Dont hand the passports, theirs or yours over.

If you are leaving on good terms then there is no reason for your old company to bother you.

Leave company on goo dterms and you can keep / transfer your Z visa (and theirs) But if you work for a company that has bad managemnet, be careful as some vengeful managers (both local and expat0 may contact immigration to get your visas revoked. best to have next job lined up if possible.

question: if you leave a company on bbad terms while on a z visa, what is the likelyhood of going to the psb yourself and obtaining a f visa? a friend is in a similar situation and i had no idea what to tell him.
