Post subject: Can you get an F visa in HK without an L visa?
Is it possible to get a six or 12 month F visa in HK without one already in your passport? I got mine done that way, but I already had a tourist visa. My brother is coming through asia soon and will visit china for a while. Can he stop in HK for a few days, without any chinese visa at all, and pick one up like I did, or is the HK service only for an upgrade?

if he uses a service then he will probably be able to get one. make sure he notes the number of entries and the number of days per entry.
