| Post subject: Any recommendations for flights? |
Any recommendations about where to buy a cheap ticket to NY for early June. Is a travel agent the best way to go or does anyone know of any offers airlines might have at the moment? Any recommendations for good agents? |

I usually purchase from travel agencies to get the best offers that they have. But I realize having to pay 200rmb less and be treated by crapy Chinese airline flight attendants are not worth it!
The best bet is choosing the airline that you think is worth investing a bit more money to accumulate milelages and buy directly from their ticketing office (after you check their online offerings). Many airlines to the US are not discounted during the holiday seasons. So you better hurry up! |

Try Travelocity but your best bet is to go to the airline directly when it come to travel to the US. If you don't mind extending your travel time take multi-stop routes, they are almost always less expensive than direct flights. |

elong only has domestic. Ctrip has international, but listings are sometimes incomplete. You have to call them. |

I've booked flights to Vietnam through Elong so i don't think they're only domestic. |

If you do not have any preference of airline, try ctrip (but be prepared to fly on a chinese airline) or go to expedia.com!
I have experienced, that actually the airlines have sometimes the best offers, if you buy directly from them, or over the internet. Call AA or United to find out, but June is high season, so prices might be higher! |

the most recent quote i got from united airlines to philadelphia was rmb6200, travel in april. summer usually sees an increase in fares; best to call the various carriers (american, united, northwest, chinaair, china eastern, jal, ana and the one based in korea) to see what you can find. also have a look at air canada as they were able to help me out once when united was upwards of usd2500 for an economy ticket. since you are going to the east coast, it may also be worth it to look at some european carriers like air france, virgin, ba and even aeroflot (although a transit visa will be needed for this route)... i've had some good fares quoted in the past (note that the actual travel time is usually longer as the the layover in the european airports can be quite long).
if possible, call the us airlines in the us rather than the local office; i have done that in the past and after chatting for a while they are usually able to find a lower fare.
a good agent who i've also used is stella song - 6249-2683. |

I need to go back to The Netherlands in early August. Any suggestions for travel agents where i can get a relatively cheap one-way ticket for Amsterdam or Dusseldorf (close to my house)? |

I'm flying to Boston on Wednesday. I booked 2 months in advance, but have kept checking. I still haven't found anything cheaper than the United flight I booked online. I don't see any reason to go to an airline's local office when you get extra miles for booking online.
I've been looking to go again late July/early August, and the prices are double what they have been. |

American Airlines will begin the new non-stop service to China on April 2, 2006. The 14-hour flight between Chicago and Shanghai will use Boeing 777 aircraft. American Airlines will provide seamless connections to many cities in eastern and central US.
Flight 289 leaves Chicago at 11:05am and arrive Shanghai next day at 2:15pm.
The return flight 288 leaves Shanghai at 4:25pm and arrive Chicago at 5:00pm. |
