Post subject: bank of china exchange methods

there are two rates posted on the bank of china's website.

Does anyone know if I can write them a standard US check or use a US debit card? Does that get me the better exchange rate? Question

the exchangerate here does only affect you when you bring USD in cash. otherwise the US bank will actually convert the money (at their own exchange rate)!

check might be cheaper from your US bank. for debit cards they will definately add on a fee.
as for the chinese bank, i don't think that they cash checks.
