| Post subject: Credit Card Applications |
Okay, I've finally gotten my work and residency permits (amen).
I'm going to attempt to apply for a international credit card (or short of that, at least an international ATM card that works on PLUS networks) linked to my RMB savings account here in Shanghai - can anyone share their experience with this process? I guess they will need to see my passport, work and residency permits but do they need anything else, e.g. passport photos, tax receipts from my salary, blood sample? Will the application be processed within a working week?
I intend to apply for it at my ( ) Bank of China branch.
Thanks. |

credit card applications in china are not as straightforward as in other places. there are a few threads floating around which discuss the process and difficulties.... while it may take a while, do a search.
many debit cards are only for use within mainland china. |
