Actually, i 'stayed' at Home Inn several years ago when i was needing a visa renewal and therefore the essential yellow slip so......... reasonable rooms but the air-con was restricted to hot and the breakfast, not included, was totally chinese.
The wife stayed in Motel168 a few weeks back while i was sunning it up elsewhere; the rooms are very small, the orange decor is slightly sickening and the view of the bathroom through the glass panel in the bedroom is, shall we say, disturbing. |

I stayed at the guesthouse inside the Shanghai Music Conservatory on Fenyang Rd. a couple of times. It used to have cheap rooms for only 100-200 RMB (I think the 200 RMB rooms had own bathroom, while the 100 RMB was shared bathroom). Rather basic facilities, but in a great location - a nice peaceful garden just a couple of minutes walk from Huaihai Rd., Xiangyang market etc. |
