| Post subject: Tired of arrogant fellow expats |
I hope I'm not alone in saying that I am fed up with expats who come out here and assume this completely undeserved air of arrogance. Fine the Chinese spit and talk loudly, its different and doesn't in any way mean that you posess a superior set of manners and customs just because they aren't compatible with those of the Shanghainese. Is our society so great? We encourage kids to grow way too fast and encourgae young girls to diet, etc, sounds great huh? The truth of the matter is its usually the expats who have come out here because they're second rate and couldn't get the footholds they wanted at home, so in defense they like assuming a role of superiority over the Chinese. If you aren't prepared to open your mind and accept China for what it is don't bother coming and wasting your time. |

JH,
Do you think that posting the same message in two different threads will serve your purpose? |

JH,
How long have you been in China? You certainly seem quick to judge. |

jahenah some of us have been here long term and seen many changes, some good and not so good. As for coming out here because we could not make it at home I think you will find that is a bit of broad statement.
Yes there are problems with our own societies and people are free to comment on those and do, read some of the posts people make about their own countries. |

As it happens I have been here long term, but obviously you think having been here a while is a justification, brilliant thinking. As for 'judging' I didn't point fingers at anyone who didn't need pointing at, just self-absorbed foreigners, so if you feel defensive well done for labelling yourself. |

and some of us actually do decent stuff in china.
i have adopted 4 young homeless boys; Frederico, Uri, Colin and Trevor. currently i am teaching them to sing and play the guitar and hopefully in 10 years time they will rival the girl band S.H.E.
i'm going to call them F.U.C.T |

JH, we try to stay fair and balanced here! we don't have any shame pointing the finger at any country, society, or single human being. we simply point out the facts of what we see every day. if you don't like it--fine! |

Ahhh, dear Jahh, you are so nice to open up a new topic which can bring up an international talk again. Thanks for that.
But please don't say in that way,,we polite Chinese will feel a shame that you made yourself so modest while our Chinese at the same time who want to be as "arrogant" as your "second-rated" fellow guys:)~~~~~~~Oh,,, what can be blamed??????Who can be blamed??? Let me think~Oh,the only thing that can be blamed for every 24 hours a day and night is that My China become stronger and strongerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so that ittttt just attracted those second-rated expats together with many first-rated expats to here for biztrip or investment or tour,,,,,
We Chinese are guilty, we should not attract you here, you should stay at your cozy homeland;;
We are guilty,, especially those who spit and talk loudly,,,oh,,,maybe only god understand that an essential reason for this "custom" is that we CHinese just want to make some bad phenomena to keep you expats hate CHina and not come again to share our great Land,,,,
Oh,,,Sorry,,, We should not be sooo selfish,,,instead we should get rid of these "custom"s, and welcome you more, and invite you more to our t¡bet, to our HUang River,,,,,We should be more hospital to you,, We know the third-ranked persons in your countries are also striving to win a ticket to China,,,,,,
The first-ranked are just too kind,, and now they live in the Countryside,,,leaving any competition opportunity,,but still peeking into China,,
Well,,, maybe................................................. |

Let me put a twist in this thread!
JH,
Do you think all expats are arrogant or the ones coming from WEST (the so called 1st world).
BTW, I am an expat from the so called 3rd world. |

Jahennah - your certainly sound second rate.
Jealous and bitter of others success is no way to go through life.
There are a-holes everywhere, some are expats and some are locals.
Catch a clue and stop painting folks with that broad stereotype brush. |
