Anyone know any boxing clubs near Plaza 66 ... or alternatively anyone looking for a boxing partner for training ???

in the gym im at next to shimen 1 lu metro there is a boxing ring and punch bags and stuff, they have some classes too but your free to use it when no one else is i believe. total fitness club. you can go and have a ganders for free

yea .... checked out the one your talking about .... Total fitness or whatever .... Man the boxing ring and training area is awesome but you gotta be a member ... i asked if they had some sort of membership just for boxing or an hourly rate system but unfortunately they said no!! Sad

shouldnt of joined up to a 1 year physical membership ... this place is 10 times better then Physical ..... Not as freakin crowded, equipment just as good and they said that they will match any quote from other gyms ...!!!

I have boxing equipment, but haven't found real boxing club. Just tried 2 times in LongWu KungFu, but didn't really like it.

So, if anyone is interested of getting some guys(or girls) together and do some training, I would be on. Post here if interested. Could be done outside in some park, or in appropriate gym if anyone knows one. Not much experience needed as I can also give some guidance. Used to do a lot some years ago and train other people also.

For me boxing, Thai-Boxing and Kick Boxing is ok.

I have 2 pairs of gloves, punching pads, kick pads, helmet, shin guards. All gear can be used together. Only mouth guard and thai-cup(for balls) I'm not sharing.

kizza08: Wow! You really seem to be ready. Sounds like you want to beat crap out of me. What's the address of the Physical you train? At the moment I'm not member of any gym, so that could do for me. But I'm not interested getting 1 year membership to any gym, as never knows if I can use whole year. So, can I get 1 or 3 month memberships there? What's the price?

Artefact: Good to hear there is other thai boxers around. I'm missing good ol' ass kicking? Very Happy

I'll also try to look for other options, but I'm ready to rumble as soon as we nail the location.

shagua, the gym near shimen 1 lu has 3 month 6 month 1 year membership i believe. 1 year is 2800 and they have all boxing equip including thai boxing classes (included in membership fee) 2-3 times per week. walk past it and there will be some chinese guys trying to get you in (they work on commission). free to look round.

I'm going to check the shimen lu gym, but didn't have time yet. Next week gonna be also busy and away from shanghai. But still going to figure out a place to train, when I'm back.

Maybe people who are interested can let me know what gear you have. To get idea what can be done (spareing? pad training?). Gloves, protection, coach equip., etc.

Hi,

I've read your posts. I'm also looking for a boxing or kickboxing gym.

I've not been able to find any...

It's hard to believe there is no boxing/kickboxing gym in a big city like Shanghai...

I've seen on a page that there is one near/in shanghai stadium. Has any of you been there ?

Anyway, please PM me if you have some new info...

They have kickboxing here, but it's far from the typical training we can have for instance in Europe. The best way is to pratice with friends in the gym/training room. Of course you need to bring your own equip, pad, gloves...i focus more on running now for the marathon, but i trained with my friend at the gym, we are only 2 to do muay thai. I plan to continue after the marathon...

The gym "Total Fitness" in Shimen no. 1 road / West Nanjing Road has thai boxing classes, as well as other martial arts. Never trained there myself because it's a bit far from where I live, but I was there and had a look around and it looked really nice (clean, lots of space, new machines, tons of classes to choose from). If it weren't for the distance I'd totally be going there since I'm desperate for some good sparring.

@ blinedale seeing as though you live at Xu Jia Hui you could check out Physical .... gym is pretty nice and out of the three physicals, the XJH one is the cleanest ..... im already a member so check out the place and if it tickles your fancy then call me up for some sparring

can anyone tell me where to get mouth guards, kick shields/punch mitts, etc.? i went to the NO.1 Department Store in People's Square but all they have are sandbags and boxing gloves.

I'd be interested in joining you guys for some sparring and training if possible. The only problem is that I work late most nights. If you're getting together on tuesday nights or weekends (after 6pm sunday, 7pm sat), I'd love to get in on it.

If you aren't yet, anyone up for it?
