Post subject: The other view of the world cup

Well it is finally over. Thankfuly! Talk about a whole month of endless rhetoric on who is the best. I can't bring myself to listen to one more self-rightous football expert telling me that neither team deserved to lose. The penalty tally was up and the goal scoring down.
I have seen better acting on daytime TV dramas then some of the crap these tossers have displayed. A bunch of overpaid wankers. It is too bad because there are some talented atheletes but it is the "stars"that get most of the attention and a few of them sure acted like morons in this TEAM sport. They say it is about national pride. I say bollocks to that. Every 4 years the same coach will jump ship and lead a differant country into battle. Most teams are made up of a mish mash of patriots and topped up with a few foreigners that they managed to lure into playing for their flag. Must be the money. And speaking of money, How much are these refs getting paid? Some are obviously on the take. The descrepenacies were laughable. It was only fitting that it should end on penalty kicks. What better way to say the best team won.
Call it what you want, it certainly was a spectacle. It did keep many peoples minds off of the regular day to day humdrum. Now we can go back our regular hours of excessive drinking. This staying up till 5 AM is killing me.

BTW I am not fan of any particular team so it is not sour grapes Smile
