Which places will I be able to go in China where I leave on Fri night after work, and return on Sun night? Or maybe leave Sat morn and return Sun night, where I'm able to capture that destination's best attractions within 2 days?
Certain provinces require at least a week's stay to really see the place, so I'll leave those for next time. |

HangZhou, SuZhou, WuZhen, and other parts of ZheJiang and JiangSu are all accessible for weekend trips. You can also consider camping in Chong Ming Island or even in Forest park. For a bit more upscale, rent a villa at Sun Island Resort and enjoy the golf course and outdoor BBQ's and such.
Just a few suggstions/ |

i just got back from moganshan (1 hour bus ride from hangzhou). although the trip there from shanghai involves various modes of transport and takes 3+hours, it's a nice weekend away if you like hiking or just escaping the city to catch a glimpse of blue sky and some amazing scenery. pretty decent hotels atop the mountain too. |

PuTuo mountain!
A really pretty island, and with nice beach plus the awesome building of Buddhism. With History and fancy stories.
Take boat to the mountain on Friday night, and come back on Sunday afternoon. Take a nice rest, then have a nice mood on Monday. |
