Post subject: The Best Romantic Movies that you ever watched

I'm a bit in romantic mood these days, so if anyone can share the romantic movies title that you ever watched before, will be great source for my dvd hunting Smile

It has to be romantic without being over whelming romantic (I found if too much will be so annoying) I think something like "Pride and Prejudice" is just right. (might be some of you doesn't agree, but at least I give some direction of my romantic mood)

Thanks

Hi there Myellen, it sounds like you'd quite enjoy:

"The Crying Game"

Hope this helps.

Serendipity is a good one and easy to find.

A wonderful take on "Pride and Prejudice" is "Bride and Prejudice"... it's actually fun!

It's old, it's long and there is an element of romance, but "The English Patient" is another favorite. I know, I'm the only one.

For romantic comedies, you can't beat "The 50 First Dates" and "The Wedding Planner"

Whatever you do, don't watch "Tristan and Isolde"... IT IS CRAP.

THE NOTEBOOK. Saw it on a plane.... every guy looked like he wanted to jump out the window, as every single girl was sobbing. Loudly.

Surely any movie starring JLo's butt cannot be considered a good romantic comedy?
Or am I missing an awful lot by boycotting all her movies?

I recommend Windstruck and My Sassy Girl, both Korean movies.

The Wedding Planner is the only one that is worth seeing. Give it a shot, you may be surprised.

xat,
"My best friend's wedding" is also good, but not among my favourites.

Sliding Doors
Shall We Dance?
Wicker Park (although it has romanticism in it, it is also a thriller)

I like shall we dance, 50 first dates, gone with the wind, sound of music. I think 50 first dates and gone with the wind is romantic ones but don't think other is. Like shall we dance because of the dance Smile Bride and Prejudice is funny but I still prefer Pride and Prejudice as I think it's more romantic. I agreed with Magnolia, Julia Robert in My Best Friend's wedding is irritating and because of that I don't find it's interesting at all. Others haven't saw yet, will try to find it around.

Romance at its best:

Patton
Full Metal Jacket (first half)
Apocalyspe Now
Platoon

No one has mentioned Casablanca ...

Mags, you are not on your own with the English Patient. I love that movie - tragic romance. It's one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen.

Only recently saw When Harry Met Sally, and I thought it was great, kind of unconventional romantic movie, good fun.

Sense and Senibility is another favourite.

And although Tom is out of favour these days, Jerry Maguire is pretty good.

There must be a ton I cannot think of, I'll come back

French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline is a pretty good movie.

However my favorite romantic movie is Bram Stoker's Dracula! Gary Oldman is God!
