| Post subject: Helicopter tours in Shanghai and China? |
Hi,
I'm looking for a company in Shanghai doing helicopter tours of the city, do you know any of them?
I'm also looking for helicopter tours in Xian, Yellow mountains, Kuming.
Thank you for your help

When you find one, let us know. Civil aviation here is still in its infant stage, though. Probably a hard find if in existence at all. |

Indeed Civil Aviation it is still infant stage, i heard that China is going to open a public pilot school, if it's not already opened. They still have a lot to catch up but they are learning very fast. In the same topic, China already started last year the trial production of its homegrown ARJ-21, or Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century, state media describing the aircraft as a potential challenge to Boeing and Airbus's dominance in the local market. Once, I went to ACAC (state owned company) the company who design and build the ARJ-21 Jet, and i can tell you that it looks like everything but a airplane company like Boeing or Airbus. Strange...
Parachute and Skydiving is also at his infant stage, though you often have championship in mainland (under Asiana Parachute Federation), So far i tried to find a Skydiving club in China, but with no success. If somebody found one, please let me know. |

There was an article in the Shanghai Daily about a year ago mentioning a private flight school was going to open, but nothing since. Given that the military controls much of the airspace in China I think they would be very worried about people holding PPL's overflying their various facilities and those of the navy and arm, or people dropping in! |

Actually it's already opened three years ago, should be this one http://www.panamaviation.com/en/index.asp.
Helicopter tours might be a hard call for the cities you mentioned now, but commercial helicopter filming is certainly available in Shanghai.
Artefact, skydiving club for amateurs may not be here yet but paragliding seems get popular among outdoor guys. |

Thanks for the Beijing Panam international aviation link, it looks cool even though the price seems high (580,000 RMB!) compare to western standart, i guess they are new in the business. The business is going start to take off. By the way No IFR courses in the School ? seems strange for a professional school like this one.
Yeah i know for paragliding, saw some extreme club doing paragliding initiation here. |
