Post subject: Not "Goodbye" but "See You Again!"

Dear All,

I have lived in Shanghai now for over a year, but I am moving to another city in Asia. Good luck to those that are staying. You are a brave lot.

Here are some things I will miss:
-The good friendships with the locals I made here
-Peaches in July
-The produce/meat market behind Xiangyang market (wonderful prices)
-F1 race at Anting (also the F1 simulator race at Sega World - great fun)
-BMW Open (nobody there, it's free and you can talk to the pros)
-Sitting at Starbuck's on the river across from the Bund on the rare clear cool days
-Inexpensive foot massages
-The bonsai cherry trees in the spring, when the blossoms open (Yuan garden)
-Spring Festival
-The British C of C Ball at the Shangri La last year (James Bond theme)
-Plowing into the idiot that stands in front of the Metro door when the door opens and I leave the train (I know it's time to go when I start to enjoy that)
-Neighborhood fruit stands
-The persistent girls outside of the Ju Bars as you walk by

Things I will not miss:

-The persistent girls outside of the Ju Bars as you walk by
-Trying to buy at train ticket at the Shanghai Railway
-People that stand right in front of the elevator/Metro doors when people are trying to get out. I still cannot figure that one out.
-People letting their kids pee and poop on the sidewalks (yes, I have seen both)
-"Hello - Watch, bags, DVDs?"
-Vendors trying to give you only one card for the 100RMB IP cards
-Motorbikes on the sidewalks
-"Hello, hello, massagie?"
-PVG Customs lines
-Kaveen's Kitchen (good food, great service (for Shanghai))
-Domestic airlines

Best wishes to all....

Odd that you signed up to the forum just to say goodbye (???!!) - i guess that means that you were out there and getting on with it, not sitting in front of a computer like us nerds...anyway, i envy you, good luck.
