Visiting Shanghai for the 1st time this October. Is it easy to get around the city without a guide?
For example, will I be able to get to an from attractions, say like the Shanghai zoo, easily using public transport?
I speak english only, will I have any difficulties during my stay in Shanghai |

You're going to need an English/Chinese map because taxidrivers, metro employees etc. don't speak any English what so ever
Going to a restaurant will pose the same problem, so you might want to consider a guide. |

You can buy it here in Shanghai (bookstores) the price is 15,- RMB
Pick the one called Tourist map of Shanghai as it contains some useful information for tourists (scenic spots etc.) |
