| Post subject: birthday dinner? |
Hi,
just got into town with my 2 girls last week. Husband has been here a year. It's his birthday today..any suggestions where we can take him? From casual to nice...no fine dining b/c girls won't appreciate it.
He'll probably have suggestions too, but I wanted to come up with some myself (ok...come up with some by suggestions by SE'ers!)
thanks for any help! |

try teppenakki. The girlscanwatch the guys cook and it can be buffet style where the kids can choose their own, and if they dont like someting, they can just go on to the next choice!
I like taiyro 15 dong ping road |

If you are in Pudong, take him and your girls to Super Brand Mall in Lujiazui. There's this buffet all you can eat restaurant on the 7th floor, next to Will's Gym. Good place for the girls. |

Take him to Banana Lief (Thai restaurant). The food is GREAT, there is people playing music and dancing, and if it is your birthday then you will get a cake and birthday song for free |

Nepali Kitchen may be an option. Book for the second floor where you eat on cushions... may be something different for your daughters, plus the food is yummy! Order the cheese balls!
While I can't stand Xin Tian Di, KABB may be an option because it lends itself well to an after dinner stroll. Not fussy, easy menu, good drinks. |

I think New Heights @ Third on the Bund have terrifc views..and the lasttime I was there with my gf, I told the waitress it's my gf's birthday birthday..and I order a slice of cake for her(I think it's chocolate mud-pie)...and they have candles on the cake which we din expect at all... also it's nice to be out @ the balcony facing the bund view... . |

I am embarrassed to say what we did after all these great suggestions. I am so worn out from lack of sleep, stress of moving in to the house, not having anything, not being able to get anything to work, etcetc....that we ordered out from Blue Frog, using the Sherpa delivery. Not that there's anything wrong with Blue Frog...was just hoping to make it more special than to sit at the table eating food out of containers (no dishes yet) too exhausted to actually talk.
All of these suggestions sound great, though, and once adjusted, I'll take him out for another birthday celebration! All of these places sound so good, though...we will definitely have to try them all..... |
