Post subject: 08/15 Addicted Tuesdays presents Demi plus open bar @ BonBon

Hey people. We've got Demi comin this upcoming Tuesday. A great Dj from the UK who's been getting a lot of attention recently and who rocked the house last Chinese New year.

As always, open bar. 50 for the gals/88 for those calling themselves men. Tables and jugs for groups of five or more (but call to make a reservation...often all booked)

And always a nice mix of people with the common theme of "next day Hangover"

In a relatively short career spanning just over four years, Demi has done things his way. Since making his debut holding down an exclusive summer residency in one of Indonesia’s biggest venues at Double Six, and reaching the final of Cream’s Resident competition in 2002, Demi has gone on to create his own global network of gigs which have included regular appearances in New York alongside Danny Tenaglia at Arc, Miami and London, his bi-monthly residency at Boa in Toronto, Stereo in Montreal and not forgetting his very own project Deeper Substance which has been running monthly since May 2001.

His diversity in his performance are both consistent and memorable, always striving to create the whole picture whether over a 2 or 10 hour set. Often found to maintain a steady tempo, Demi works a lot more with the internals of a track to make it 'feel' faster. He knows exactly what he’s doing in terms of creating a journey. This organic approach is never over-thought or planned out, but just oozes out of him very naturally and successfully.

His signature stamp of ass-slapping grooves, infectious charm and unwavering love of DJing has seen him win many admirers and gain respect across the globe. It is his humbleness and boundless energy which feeds off anybody who comes across this young man.
Demi’s meteoric rise has been down to a combination of sheer hard work, talent and luck. But as Demi says, “you make your own luck”

The Pacha Ibiza team were alerted to Demi’s growing profile by Danny Tenaglia. Sure enough, Demi was given his debut alongside legendary DJ Laurent Garnier and Pete Tong at Pacha’s flagship Friday night event Pure Pacha and wowed the crowd and the owners. So much so that Tong went on record in DJ Magazine, saying his set was the best warm-up set he’d heard in 2004.

Such recognition has not gone unnoticed – he received two separate nominations for `Best Newcomer` and `Breakthrough DJ` at the 2004 DJ Pacha Awards and House Music Awards 2004. Demi is widely acknowledged as being one of the rising stars in the global dance music community.

Demi is now developing production and remixing major recording artists. His co-remix of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” with Tri-factor was picked up by EMI who released the single on their ‘Club Bowie’ remix compilation release and featured heavy support from Sander Kleinenberg, Anthony Pappa and a host of other DJ’s.

Demi has also now been picked up by Graphite Media Management, a company owned by Ben Turner – the founder of Muzik and Pacha magazines, and Creative Director of the DanceStar Awards. Turner’s company manages Rob da Bank / Sunday Best, Steve Lawler, Murk aka Oscar G & Ralph Falcon, and also A Man Called Adam.

2005 will also see Demi launch his own DSR label in conjunction with Amato Distribution. The first release will be Demi’s own ‘Gearbox’ track, having turned down offers from a number of the world’s leading underground dance imprints. His second release D-Drive has already been picked up and will be featured on various mix compilations from the likes of Satoshi Tommie and Smokin Jo Ministry of Sound Mix sessions due out later this year. The label will also showcase a more left-field sound from Demi under The Shepherds guise along with the 16-bit Lolitas.

With so many years ahead of him it’s scary to think how good Demi is going to get. If his career is a DJ set, he is still warming us up……
