| Post subject: vegetarian steamed dumplings |
three years ago i knew of a place that had them. now it's gone and i'm back. how to fill the void? prefer ones that come in little steamer baskets on a bed of cabbage leaves but i'll take what i can get. |

Lots of places do them off and on the streets. If you see a pile of steamers then you can be pretty sure they have them. Ask for 'cai bao'. They are the steams buns filled with chopped veggies. |

are we talking about the steamed bun or jiaozi?? There was one home cooking kind behind xiangyang market, when I went back it was gone... they served nice varieties.
My friend took me to one somewhere, like Dong Bei Ren Jia, unfortunately they used pork fat that I felt so sick afterwards... They did admit it when I asked at the end.... |

Many chinese eating places and Chinese restaurants do serve vegetarian steam buns or dumplings. Or convenience stores like Lawson. Just look for "Su Cai Bao 素菜包" or " Su Zheng Ziao 素蒸饺". |
