| Post subject: Mobile phone recommendation, checkout my requirements. |
Hi, I'm looking to purchase a new mobile and hope to gain from your experience
1. Should be as low price as possible.
2. No need to play games, watch movies or any fency stuff.
3. Should be able to SMS easily in English as well in Chinese -- meaning use friendly version for input of English as well as Pinyin.
4. Fast, no sluggish OSes with applications I will never use.
5. Should be able to filter Calls and SMS per number or groups. As an example, only a specific group or number can send me SMS messages in general, or between specific hours.
5.b. Call alert ring, or SMS notice can be set per a specific number or group. For example, if it's a number which is not on my list it will not ring after 23:00.
6. High quality builtin microphone and good reception of signal -- as far as the mobile hardware is concerned.
7. Long battery life.
8. Very important, it should be able to record conversations with a click of a button and store it on a memory card.
That's about it! Cheers. |

Options 5 and 5b are going to be very difficult to find in a cell phone that's not ridiculously difficult to use. I've only heard of it on a Chinese-brand phone that they advertise on TV and costs 3700RMB. I wouldn't trust it to work well...
I haven't seen a one-button voice recorder on a cellphone since my Motorola CD928 phone from 2000.
Good luck! |

Thanks. Your comment on 5 and 5b is quite surprising as I thought these options are quite basic these days. |
