| Post subject: Sunday Brunch |
I am looking for somewhere to go for champagne brunch other than the Westin this Sunday. Current choices are 4 Seasons, Portman, JW Marriottt and The Regent.
Which of any would you recommend? Or elsewhere? |

The four seasons is a good brunch, not as HUGE as the Westin, but its very good quality vs just quantity. |

Not sure about the 4 seasons. I've been there and felt a bit disappointed - particularly given the same cost as Westin but only a 10th of the options.
I've heard good things about the Regent, but haven't been. |

Thanks for the recommendation mate. Our brunch is not quite as big as the big hotels, we try and keep it fun.
288rmb all you can eat and drink Champagne (Laurent Perrier) and cocktails. This Sunday we actually have the SCAA animal welfare charity brunch. Come along, but there will be a few dogs running around. All for fun and charity. |

i'd recommend the Portman. They have their own foie gras 'station' if you like that, good chocolates, choc fountain, good sashimi...pretty good choice. had a blast last time i took guests there. they have a girl play the violin and piano..pretty nice environment. |

Of the hotels, I recommend the Portman. Bloody good spread, mate, with plenty of bubbly for system cleansing purposes. |

The Crowne Plaza on the Puxi side has also got what sounds like a good brunch (and dinner). It runs from 11:30am until 9:30pm with Laurent Perrier free flow.
Not been so I can't comment on the food but I'd like to check it out. It's also marginally cheaper than the likes of the Westin (which is sooooooooo good) |

JW marriot on Nanjin Xi Lu is the best. 288 RMB no alcohol. 450 RMB with unlimted alcohol! Huge selection of everything.
Ritz is too small, too noisy, not so much election. The cutting by the chef is stingy. The sushi chef asks you how many peices you want... |

Anyone tried the sunday brunch at Le Meridien Sheshan? I know it is rather far away but hubby wants to give it a try. Is it a good place to bring two small kids to? They are 2+ and 1 year old. Also is it a champagne brunch and what type of champagne do they serve?
Have not been able to find much information about them. Will call to see what I can find out but feedback from anyone who has been there is greatly welcome.

The brunch at the Regent was OK but not as good as the Westin. The Westin isn't as good as it was when it first started and price was RMB 298 but still better than most places. Keen to try out Crowne Plaza since I've heard good things. |
