| Post subject: 'wet' toilet seat |
What the hell is that about? It’s the most disgusting thing that I found in my office toilet EVER. I have no idea how a normal human being fails to sit on a toilet seat instead of standing on it or whatever!
Some women look so decent but while it comes to the toilet culture, they just act much worse than the animals. Even my dog knows how to take a piss or dump CORRECTLY.
What a bunch of freaks!!! |

This is very common in the mens bathroom -- very easy to piss all of the toilet seat!
BTW, Your dog knows how to use a regular toilet? Does it sit or squat? |

Lemongrass - I am constantly amazed at how dirty the ladies toilets can be here. I mean I understand guys toilets getting messy - they have to stand up, there's further for the piss to travel - more to go wrong. But us girls sit on the toilet! how is it that there is often pee on the seat or around the bowl on the floor???!!!??? And why do they not wipe up after themselves so i have to do it? it's gross gross gross! |

but is it so hard to sit? When i encounter a squat toilet i don't try and sit on it to do my business, so why should people stand on a western toilet? just adapt for goodness sake! |

i don't wish to degenerate the thread, but i would think that squatting is a much more efficient method of going to the loo. |

yes it is, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to do that on a sitting toilet! |

i think its acceptable if they lift the lid up and clean afterwards. if they don't it becomes a problem. |

I'm in this new office now, and i can't believe how dirty the mens get. I am sure they are squatting on them.
So here's what i'm going to do.
1 - Spray the Seat with WD40
2 - put blue loo in the water.
Result, he who comes out with one leg trouser all blued up is the culprit. |

You are probably right on this one. Still it is amazing that the chinese don't find it obvious that the westner style toilet is meant to be sat on, not stood on.
Stuff like that bothers me alot here, and believe it or not, it all seems to fall under the category of misuse of technology. And however frustrating it is, it isn't their fault.
I'm in the automotive business, but seven of the eight engineers in my department have never driven a car. How are you supposed to understand something that you never use? Its like programming software with pencil and paper. |

Maybe they just find it dirty to sit on a public toilet, so better squat than to get germs on your thighs and buttocks... thats why i never go to any public toilet here... better to find a nice hotel and do your business with ease. |

just be thankful for goodness sake they are including more western toilets in places and don't be presumptious a culture whose toilet habits differ from what you are used to will "adapt" easily - you are in THEIR culture now afterall... and when you encounter messier loos think how nice it is more people are actually using them and not pissing/dumping in the streets (not that there isn't room for greater improvement in this...) |

But then again benkloepfer, your engineers do not have to teach people how to drive a car.
But I get your point. |

don't presume to know anything about me Ship. I spent a year traveling in SE Asia so i am well acquainted with squat toilets and with the use of water instead of toilet paper. and I adapted very well to a culture whose toilet habits were very different from mine. If i am able to adapt to using a squat toilet it is surely not hard for someone used to using squats to adapt to using a sit down toilet. |

I think it's also just a bad cycle. All you need is ONE PERSON who doesn't sit and clean up after him/herself, and leave others with no choice but to squat on a sitting toilet. Afterall, who wants to have their butt touching and sitting on the the wet seat t after someone has soiled it?? |

Let me not get started on staff who always seem to have diarrhea and cannot clean after the act. Those are usually the same staff who commit fraud and are incompetent, in my experience. About 40% of the personnel. |

streuth, its not a matter of not knowing how to use a western toilet. its a matter of personal preference. how one wishes to use the toilet is non of our concern UNLESS they don't clean it after them. this is the only problem |

It is our concern if they break the toilet seat by standing on it.
LaVecchiaSignora-
Good point, now that I think about it, the engineers at Boeing probably don't fly jets that often either. But I think we both understand what I'm getting at. |

When the American wanted to export their toilets, they call them "American Standard". Says it all. |

I agree with Lemongrass, everytime before I use the toilet I have to use the toilet paper to wipe the ring clean. Yuck! |
