Post subject: Buying staff for babys trough telephone

Hello all,

I am going to the International Peace Maternity in Hushan Rd. and at the front door i received a couple of chinese magazines where they offer a range of products such as strollers, beds, toys, cloths for babys, diappers etc. I called them because i was so curious about the prices and they told me they have no shop, the only way to get the item is trough telephone but they speak a little english.

I have no experience in buying staff for baby trough telephone in Shanghai because i prefer to have a look at the quality first, but the things are from Shanghaiwawa and Les enphants and the very known brands like a Huggies, Pampers, Mustela, Pigeon etc.

Any suggestions?

Honestly, I would be a little cautious as I've heard "stories" from my local colleagues about baby-product related scams such as re-used diapers etc. How true, I'm not too sure. Yet some other local colleagues purchase their diapers etc in bulk from sites such as Taobao.com and attest to the product's quality.

I'm like you, need to touch and finger stuff before purchase, so I've not gone the e-commerce or telephone way in China...yet.

My wife orders stuff from those magazines, we've had no problems yet (keeping my fingers crossed). They deliver it to your home, there you can inspect the product before handing over the cash.
