I want to sell my membership to Power international fitness because the commute is very inconvenient for me its two bus rides and 45 minutes away from my new living place. its address is 1059 wuzhong road. I would be willing to sell my membership which is valid until May 1st, 2010, for 700 RMB.
call me at 13816642137 or pm me for more details. gym is cleaned regularly and i found the staff to be very helpful and nice |

I find it is cheaper to run around Xujaihui park if you can get past the slow walking locals. The prices some gyms were OTT espcially when only in Shanghai 50% time. Also they were asking full year payment. As you go outside downtown it gets cheaper like Pu Dong but its a trek to get to just to work out, its a work out in it own right. |

700 rmb for 8 months is cheap, and it's not in Pudong; the address is 1059 Wuzhong Road. thats north Ming Hang. Close to Puxi, but not as busy haha. |

Hey,
I've been considering joining Physical in XuJiaHui as I'm really only interested in somewhere with free weights, a few basic machines, and some cardio equipment. Couldn't care less about classes/pools/staff and all that, just want to be in and out and do my thing.
I stopped by the gym the other day just to check it out and found that none of the staff were able to speak English. As my Chinese is conversational at best, I was reluctant to sign anything. I was quoted 1900rmb for one year though, which sounds pretty good to me. I'm wondering if anyone out there could give me some info on this gym because I just couldn't get much info out of these people due to the language barrier. More specifically, what does the membership include? Are there any surprises that I should be aware of? Is the gym typically overcrowded?
Any information you may be able to provide is much appreciated. |
It is definitely overcrowded there! 1900rmb is OK for a year membership but i think you can try to bargain with the sales people there in Physical and perhaps you can get it down to 1,000 or 1,500 rmb...

I've made it a point to do a lot of marketing research on gyms in the area since I'm opening up my own next month. If you're interested in Mixed Martial Arts, Combat Sports, & Alternative fitness, just click the banner in my sig for more info.
If you're looking for an inexpensive, quality, standard weights & treadmills fitness gym, USA Kingsport Fitness on Wuzhong road has a nice little place. Not a lot of weights or machines, but they're not very busy either. They offer a lot of classes, a hot yoga room, spinning, and a dance studio. The bi-lingual staff is very friendly and accommodating. And the price tag is around 1700 RMB/year.
And nobody's paying me to say that. They were just really cool to me when I dropped by to spy on them, so I figured I'd return the favor. |
