We are about to go on Thursday - Sunday. For 2 of us it's cost 7300rmb total, but as I'm going with an elderly relative I thought it would be the best way. The price includes flights, airport transfer in Beijing, 3 nights at 4 star Hotel including breakfast, English speaking tour guide, car with driver, lunch at local resturant (!!!!) all entrance fees to sites. Booked through China Express Tours, email dongshcn@online.sh.cn. So far they've been very good. James speaks excellent English. Will let you know how it goes if you like? |

It went well. We were met at the airport by the tour guide and driver. The hotel was 4*, basic but clean and comfortable. It was also well positioned, within walking distance of Tiananmen Square. We visited the Forbidden City Tiananmen Square, Ming Tombs, The Great Wall, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven plus a few factories’ they chucked in for good measure!!! Food provided at lunchtime was basic but the restaurants were clean and the food was okay. All in all I thought it was good value for money and we had a great time. The Great Wall was fantastic and had an amazing atmosphere, well worth it just for that experience! One thing that may be an issue was the tour guide. He was a student with limited knowledge. This didn't bother us too much as we read up on the places we visited and read the information on the signs as we went round but if you want a guide with good historical knowledge this may be a problem. |
