Post subject: Volunteering in Shanghai

Hi all!

I did a search on ShanghaiExpat for "volunteer opportunities", "how to volunteer" and other combinations of words, but after sifting through a bunch of pages to no avail, I here refer to you to help me find information. Maybe you can direct me to a previous thread that I can read through.

So far I've found Community Center Shanghai and Hands On Shanghai.

My schedule is packed, but it'd be nice to do some volunteering on the side, as it were.

Community Center (ccshanghai.org) is a great starting place. They do a lot. There is a Rotary Club in town that does fund raising for charities also. If you have a particular focus in mind, maybe you can start something.

i've also been looking for places to volunteer.

i contacted the community center, but most of their work seems to involve answering phones and organizing events: great things, but not necessarily what i'm looking for.

does anyone at shanghai expat have any experience volunteering at an orphanage or at a home for the elderly? i'm not even sure if the second one exists (haven't come across one before)--just thought i'd toss it out there.

try this wb , maybe it got english vision , my net is too slowly cant open it , but before i've been a vonlenteer as a tutor, there a girl tell me this wb got orphanage stuffs , try to visit there. and i admire your warm hearted, so whatever, good luck !
