I'm not sure if anyone's posted about this yet.
But it's a short walk from DongChang Metro. It's behind the Times Square shopping mall. 3 floors opened so far |

I also discovered this new fake market place recently because my favourite row of DVD shops in Pudong (those that used to be opposite Ba Bai Ban) shifted there. They're all on the 3rd floor. But if you were there recently but didn't see them, it's because they were closed due to potential raids. However, you might still see a guy or two hanging around who might open their shop for you. |

Ah yeah, I hear it's because they're having a 2 week crack down on intellectual property. But I think that's over now, so maybe they've opened
And, that's exactly why I was in there because our usual dvd place shifted! |

Is this the same one that's underground? Near the Science and Tech museum? (Sorry, I don't know Pudong very well) |

You know there is one at Xizang Road and Huaihai Road,
very few people there, only opened 15 days, most of the vendors are from the old xiangyang market,
most of them haven't sold anything yet so they're quite desperate,
good place to get some nice prices. |

the new one in pudong is called Rong Fu department store, its on Pudong Nan Lu (bang opposite the McDonalds in Times Square). a smallish setup but since its so new, vendors are willing to give good prices without too much hassle. |

Where on Huaihai Lu does Xizang Lu cross? Looked at my map but couldn't find it. |

Excellent. I'm going to check it out this weekend. Has anybody checked out the one in Shanghai Science and Technology Station? |

I've been to the one at 580 Nanjing rd... it was a waste of time..so far, the best has been the one under the S&T subway station, or the new one at Pudong Nan Lu. |

Why are you so obsessed by this market?
In Shanghai everywhere there are fake products. I have never liked to go to XYM and to spend my time in that place.
It seems that you cannot live anymore without it. This city is just a big market. There is nothing else but shops and shops and shops.
When I want fake things, I can buy on www.taobao.com, comfortably from the web.
But mostly i prefer to buy good and genuine things for me. Real Geox, real Adidas, real Nike.
those who are around you, if they are skillfull enough they know you are wearing a fake.
I would be very worried if I could not find pasta, nutella, mascarpone, olive oil, basil, salami etc.
I cannot live without these things, but who cares about XYM! |

Umm obviously a lot of people considering the amount of posts there are about it... and there are other things to buy not just fake stuff. Easy - if you don't like it don't go...bit sad that you can't live without salami though!!! |

The new market is a 3-storey monster on Longhua Rd, about 200 yards from whichever elevated road that is, nearish the stadium, number 2789 or similar, you can't miss it, the old "watch, dvd...." shouts can be heard a mile off. All the old shanyang traders have moved to this place and seem desperate for some publicity, it seemed very empty yesterday. |

What's a "yard" ?
So, seen from the stadion or from IKEA, it is in south-east direction on Longhua lu, right ?
NOT
North on Caoxi lu ?
South on Humin lu ?
West on Zhongshan xi lu ? |

Xizang Nanlu crosses Huaihai Dong/Zhonglu a little south of Shanghai Concert Hall. Walk south on Xizang Zhonglu from the concert hall. |

How confusing is that all !
Do you mean the concert hall or the stadium ?
And i do not see any Xizang Zhong lu there.
alifranks wrote it is in Longhua lu. How do you connect that ?
And that yard thing, is that 90 cm or 110 cm ?
It is a horizontal linear / longitudinal measurement isn't it ?
Is there a yard-specialist or just a yardman here to confirm all this ? |

Yard is an Imperial measure of length equal to 3 feet and its exact conversion to metric is 0.9144 metre, for all things general it is normally accepted to be circa 90 centimetres (or 0.9 metres). Try this website http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_all.htm |

That was what my previous reply was answering. Not the stuff about the one near Shanghai Stadium, totally different place.
Anyway, IIRC the one around Longhua Lu is near Huarong Lu junction. |

xizang lu crosses east of huaihai lu. there is a KFC at the right corner of the street when you are coming from the west or central huaihai. |
