Post subject: Nuovo Vita Yu Shan Road

Have 'finally' tried this Italian restaurant and it was a total disappointment.

Here's our story (if one don't mind its a bit long):-

We went there for lunch the other day and apparently the restaurant has been too quite for too long (or since opening, who knows) and forgot how to serve customer (we have even booked before we went there!)

The waiters were obivious those very ordinary 'min gong 民工' type without any training what's western dining at all, not even talking about fine dining (may be they have not eaten any western dining at all). We could just pick the table we like (even we have booked and ask for a corner or so) and then given the menu. There was not water served (of course one can argue that some 'high class' restaurants need customers to order water). After we order our food (various set lunches with salad/soup, soft drink/tea/coffee & main course). The waiter, without asking, (or not sure because this is happend on the top item on the menu) just gave us glasses of coke (& without ice & gas!). We were surprised and ask again and again whether this is part of the set, if so then we don't want coke at all and we want the drink (tea/coffee) at the end of the lunch. The 'debate' goes for 10-15 min! and it is still just cats talking to dogs because he keep saying that the coke is 'free'...at the end the waiter suddendly said that he himself just gave us for free. So we accepted the drinks, but in just not more than 5 mintutes another waiter who came to serve us and we 'discovered' that the drinks was actually the drinks in the sets (oh my goodness!). (forgot to say that during all these conversatins we say a foreigner (presumably the boss?) came back to the shop, but seemed still half-asleep).
In all these debates, we were so fed up and have to finally ask for the foreigner to talk to us instead. After another 5-10 min of 'conversation' again he finally 'clarified' that we didn't wanted the coke initially - but a bit to our surprise, he just took away all the coke which we drank half already (not sure it this is for re-use).
When our soup/salad arrived, we found that what we told 'pumkin' soup was green in colour - again we have to go to 'clarify' again that it should be 'broccoli' soup (oh dear, the guys don't even go clear what was the soup of the day!)
We asked for whereabout bread for the soup, the waiter told us that no bread is served (!) and that we have to separately order for it. Again after arguing with the only foreigner we got bread - but it finally came in only a few slices for us (a big table of 8 people!). Of course we have to ask for it again, then another plate (again only 'poorly' a few slices bread of only 2-3 square inches big...). I have not even mentioned that through all these we were not provided with side plate & knife, we were not given butter/oil unless we asked for it, the cold dipping source were taken and then the 'half-consumed' dipping source come again on the new plate of bread....
In all it just made us feeling mad and radiculous.

Ok, to say something about food, personally I think food is ok but too salty in all dishes (everybody in the table said their food is too salty!) and the portion is too small (may be we have all debated for too long so we all got so hungry...)

Price : the meal cost around RMB 5X to RMB6X per set.

Based on the location and the lousy service we got I would think it didn't even worth 1/2 the price of it. Only mad people could charge this price there. I can find small italian restaurants in Puxi prime location with lunches of similar prices but much better in all aspects (service, decor, food ...)

In all, I think this was really such an experience!
