| Post subject: Mom coming! Help!! Fancy Hotels / Spas / Custom Tailoring |
my mom is coming and I want her stay to be great
i'm just young so I was hoping some of you more experienced people could give me some advice.. MUCH appreciated.. thanks
I am looking for ..places where you can bring pictures of clothes in and have the tailor or seamstress create it for you.
A nice hotel for my parents to stay on their anniversary.
A nice spa for my mom (and dad?) to attend for a day.
If it helps, my family is middle-upper middle class. |

try the new Le Meridien hotel. It's supposed to be very nice. All the nice hotels will have decent spas.
One nice spa where they can share a huge room together is Lotus Spa, near Xintiandi. Very relaxing there |

I'd give a second to Lotus Spa. Quality is 5 star hotel but prices are more moderate (but not cheap) and they do the couples thing really well. Depending on their budget any of the bund restaurants are special especially for visitors or if they want to spend a little less Sashas or Garcon Chinios or even le Buchon my personal annivesary favorite. |

Tailor~it really depends what type of dress you want them to make, like what sytle, coz i belive the tailor for Chinese style dress and Western style dress are very different.
Hotel, maybe you can try Peace hotel near Wai Tan, during the nite they can have dinner there, very nice view there.
SPA~.....no much about this...sorry.... |

88 Xintiandi is a lovely hotel I put my parents up in. Boutique style, pricey, but great.
Dragonfly massage on Dagu Lu or evian Spa at 3 on the Bund for massages and other treatments.
try Dave's tailors at the Portman centre for men's suits. You will need a picture or something for them to copy, espcially for women. Or just go to the fabric market.
Take parents to the Pearl market on Hongmei Lu and the fake markets on 580 NaJing Xi Lu or Science and Technology stop on the metro.
Drinks - Face bar is a must.
meals - M on the Bund and the Westin brunch.
Have fun! |
