Oh, forgot to mention there is a small flower market by on kaixuan lu by hongqiao lu right infont of the metro stop that has a few aquarium shops. They have beautiful ones that are the salt water tanks with great corals and fish... but those a more costly and difficult to keep. Also the hongqiao flower market has a whole section dedicated to fish tanks.... If need more info pm me and I'll look up the exact addresses for you. |

There are stores that specialize in them in the various pet/bird markets around town...The most famous one being on Xizang lu. If they don't have the recessed variety then they can point you in the right direction (probably to their brother in-law or buddy who has also store). I have a friend with an incredible 50 gallon saltwater tank with beautiful vibrant fish. The whole setup is stunning and I marvelled at how she could maintain it. For a minimal fee she has a guy come a few times a week to do all the hard work of keeping a large saltwater tank balanced and healthy. |

true, one of the great things about living here is that you can have someone come a couple of times a week and do all the work required to keep you tank in perfect condition. Our neighbor has such an arrangment with someone coming to take care of their fish for them. My husband would really like to have one of those saltwater tanks but since we will probably be leaving in 2 years it would be terrible not being able to bring it back with us so is not worth the investment. We saw a dream saltwater tank the other day at the hongqiao flower market that they were asking 26000 RMB which is a great price for what it was. I know in the states it would cost a fortune to have a tank like the one that we saw.... |
