Post subject: Daniel Craig best Bond since Connery.

The Guardian

Ian Fleming's vision of Bond was a blond haired hard-case villian. That's what Craig is.

A key line in the piece is this:

Quote:
The key to his X-factor is that Craig looks as if he would be equally at home playing a Bond villain.

And that's the thing. James Bond was a nasty piece of work - he could easily be the bad guy if you were none the wiser.

Looks like the nest Bond movie will be closer to the original 007 novels I read as a kid.

Excellent shiit.

sign of the times or a kickback to the original books?

Watched "Thunderball" last night. Shocking movie.

Rodger "The Doger" Moore is still it for me. "Octopussy" is a masterpiece.

Rodger (sic) Moore is by far the worst Bond ever.

He was the Tom & Jerry of Bond movies.

I liked Timothy Dalton, second only to Sean Connery I reckon. Dalton could look mean.

Roger Moore was awful. The last guy was also crap. I don't understand why they got rid of Dalton to use him.

Moore was great. I loved him cause was a sleazy bastard.

Dalton was a tool.

I would be a good Bond.

I seriously think Pierce Brosnan was the perfect Bond. Goldeneye is up there as one of the best Bond movies also.

In order

Brosnan
Connery
Moore
That Aussie tool who was in one of them
Dalton

DALTON WAS SHITE.

I think Dalton was shite too.

Basically so far it's been just Connery and Brosnan. The Brosnan Bond movies has some kind of paradigm shift that changed the whole Bond movie thing - they had to do that, because there was no more Cold War so what's the point of Bond?

I reckon this new bloke could be good too. I liked him in Layer Cake.

This new guy is horrible. Look at the preview. he looks terrible.

Get off the Ian Fleming tip. Those were books. Making a movie is different from a book. When you adapt a book to a movie you have to make changes.

The new guy sucks!

That's how Bond is supposed to be - horrible, nasty, slightly dishevelled and a total fcuking cnut. He was a spy not some Hollywood movie star.

Get off the Fleming tip? Why? Aren't the movies supposed to have some connection to the novels?

Good job you're not producing - James Bond would be driving around in a pick-up wearing surf shorts, smoking a j and going 'Yo! Like, what's up, duuude?'.

Hey Mat, can you get Lillet in Shanghai? If you can find it lets do some Vesper Martinis (3 parts gin, 1 part vodka, and 1/2 a part of Lillet).

Can you change this to a poll Pablo?

Dalton gets my vote. Connery and Brosnan were **** mincers.

I think Pierce Brosman was excellent, unfortunately the scenarios of the last 10 or so Bond movies were ridiculous, making any actor look like a fool anyway. David Niven and Peter Sellers were perhaps the best Bonds in a tweaked kind of way, though Connery was good too.

Sean Connery, allways!!
But Pierce Brosnan has something different, he looks like a bad boy, and this is nice!
And I agree that both were too perfect to be Bond, Daniel Craig is not beautiful, looks like crap, but still got some charm...
I'm quite anxious to watch this new Bond movie!!

So what you are telling me is Daniel Craig fits the vision Ian Fleming had when he created James Bond? I just don't believe that. I don't think he would like him. But again, books don't always translate to movies. You have to make changes.

anyways, I am running out of Bond films to wack off to. I usually blow a load when Q introduces the first gadget. I think I'll do Dr. No tonight.
