Admiration of other cultures maybe, mainly the media. Lots of Chinese here love the Korean Drama and Media. They love Japanese Cartoons/Anime. They love Hollywood Blockbuster movies. Let's face it most good TV dramas that are in Chinese are not from China, mostly from Hong Kong. Most good Chinese music are not from China, mostly from Taiwan. People from China will say Hong Kong and Taiwan are China. But people from the places just don't see it that way. Very touchy. But the cultures in Hong Kong in Taiwan are still different from China wether or not they are part of China.

But yeah the admiration is caused by China not really having enough quality Modern Media. Media does have an impact. Just like how certain Rap make people proud to be GANGSTA or THUGS! And media play a big role to how the new generation think, it's inevitable. I heard even from a young chinese guy who says he hates the TV shows made by China and calls it lame.

Also feeling ashamed about the country does not mean being ashamed about the nationality. And the majority of the Chinese are proud, which is good. But some are too damn proud and makes it look wrong. Like how they are too proud to be the ones with the first toilets, but most can't use it properly or even flush after using it, which backfires their too damn proud image. In fact histroy shows being too proud screws you! How the Chinese invented gun powder but are too damn proud to advance it and then look what happened during the Opium War. So be proud but don't be too damn proud. In other words don't be too full of it!

I know 2 American guys who think America is the worst country ever. They are moving to Thailand.

Now there's a great sample size. I'm sure those 2 guys are indicative of the entire population.

Why don't you read the quote again! Lucyna said "...not all American are... ". I gave two examples to support her statement. But what's the purpose of you being sarcastic?

I'm laughing so hard. Five thousand years of history means diddly-squat when a vast chunk of the population acts as if they have just climbed down from a tree. Jade is nothing special and as for antique pleasures I have no idea but if the contents of museums in China is anything to go by, it's all crap. Pandas are lovely, granted, but they are better looked after in overseas zoos than the small flith encrusted cages they are held in in Chinese zoos. You might have gold but you can't build mines. Your calligraphy and paintings are nothing compared to Europe's. Landscape! You have to be kidding. The entire country is covered in pollution and is very ugly. As for your inventions, what have you invented recently? What is the great Chinese invention of the 20th Century, or even the 19th? Apart from a great ability to copy everything.

Finally you are not a citizen. Thanks to your corrupt and evil government, nobody in China enjoys the status of a citizen. You are just people.

If the antique is sth like crap,I wonder why some western invaders grab them during the 1900's war,and even burned the great Yuanmingyuan after their ugly behavior.
And i also wonder if your country is so rich ,why u need our antiques to exhibit in your museum?

We put Chinese Antiques in our museums to keep the dust off the shelves.

Chinese artifacts make good dust collectors you see.

But a lot of good Chinese antiques are in the National Palace Museum in Taipei.

Maybe one day you can get a tourist visa to visit Taiwan.

one drosophila complaint to be born in dark and choked wastebin, another drosophila criticized him:

" You should be proud to be a drosophilas born in this great place, where has abundant and various rotten fruits for us to eat and breed. The most important thing is we have a big crowd here!We have enough reasons to be proud of our country.Don't admire pigeons on lawn, they even can't find any rotten fruit there! and don't always stare at our problems,do you think outside is perfect? Furthermore,we always tries to overcome our probs and advance...anyway,wastebin is our homeland,we must be proud of it!"

All drosophilas were touched by the patriotic drosophila's lecture, then they started up a chorus: We love our great homeland.

There is no difference for me to put them in Taiwan or mainland, since Taiwan is a part of China. But now that our Chinese ancestors could produce them,i'm pretty sure that we can take care of them ourselves,so just don't worry.

Really??? Wpw.... if China is a part of Taiwan you too could get a 700 Billion Dollar arms deal as well. Wink Wink

BUt the Tawan China thingy, if Taiwan is a part of China then why would Chine need to take Taiwan back or have it re-join. You only re-join something that is separated. Oh Wel.

Now how long has Taiwan supposedly been a part of China... not for over 100 years... oops Embarassed Embarassed

The real meaning is that Drosophila live for only 14 days, and 14 days is not so bad to be living in hell when you think about it.
