Post subject: Shopping Options: Singapore, London

I'm going to Singapore and London for a short trip and like to get a bit of shopping in, I'm interested in mostly shoes and clothes, in simple styles which is hard to find here in Shanghai. I shop in stores like The Limited, Banana Republic and Gap in the States, so looking for similar styles. If I could get some directions on the stores and locations it would be great, thanks a bunch.

hi there, you'll be pleased to know that Gap is now in Singapore, you can find the first ever Singapore branch in VivoCity near the Harbourfront MRT stop. are you Singaporean? even if not, our train system is very easy to navigate. Not sure about the other brands tho, but they may be there too. happy shopping!

London - head to Oxford Street and in particular Oxford Circus tube stop. The stores that you would be interested in are Next, the Gap, Zara, Topshop (maybe), there might also be Banana Republic there too, and H&M is always worth checking out. For shoes there is a big store on the oxford circus corner called Shelleys that has everything.

might post more later if i can think of anything

thanks everyone for your inputs.

While I'm at it, anything in these two cities a must see? I never been to Singapore, but been to London a lot time ago. I'll be in Singapore for a total of three days, and London for two. Thanks.

There isn't any must see in singapore honestly, it's a small city. Geylang serai is very much about the muslim community and little india - as the name says, is where one can find indian spices or saris, jewellery, food etc. orchard road is just a shopping place, this street should be lighted with xmas deco now.

But you can try the many varities of food in this city, especially south east asian food and yet a very cheap cost. No need to eat in fancy restaurants, just go the food courts or hwaker centres.

Hey OOLIVER,

You can get MANGO, ZARA, TOPSHOP, DOROTHY PERKINS, GAP and the likes in Singapore.. i suggest you head to ORCHARD ROAD to satisfy your shopping craze... we have shitload of malls carrying a wide range of international brands.... also, we have local brands of similiar styles etc - you can find these in HEEREN (same building as HMV). Or Far East Plaza along Scotts Road, off Orchard Road..

Not too sure with London, but i was in Dublin for Xmas last year, and apparently some of brands such as Marks and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, Topshop are much cheaper in Dublin as compared to Sgp, probably due to the xmas sales going on etc... and needless to say, i went crazy with the shopping... Smile

If you're into clubbing, check out MOS and Zouk... ahhh.... my fave clubs... You can hop onto those tour buses such as Hippo Tours etc to bring you round sgp etc... As for food, YENC722 has pretty much summed it up...

PM me if you need more information... Smile
