| Post subject: food restrictions + best apartment complex |
Hi there!
Are there any restrictions on food being brought into Shanghai?
Also, would appreciate your thoughts on which apartment complex is better - Ladoll or One Park Avenue..
Thanks!

If you aren't caught, then there are no restictions. On the whole, Chinese customs is a breeze, never a problem.
Compound for compound, they are about the same; the determining factor would be the individual apartment. |

Chinese customs doesn't like you bringing in vegetable, fruit, meat, fish, seafood, plants, etc. They stopped me twice - one they took away approx 2kg of fine Swiss cheese, the second time they caught me with a dog who had sniffed that my baby's bib had some banana residues smeared on it (the second time they didn't bother about the cheese sandwich).
As Magnolia said: if they don't catch you - no restrictions. If they catch you (and you look like a tourist or ignorant person to them) they just take away the food. So if you take any food - just be prepared to give it away for free. |
