Post subject: Opening a Cafe/Bar in Shanghai

I'm about to venture into opening a bar/cafe - yes another - in Shanghai. Would be very interested in any thoughts, tips, discussions comments, etc.

Thanks

And don't forget to pay monthly royalties of 0.5% of all earnings to coffeehawk_0 Tm. If not, he will mambo dogface in your banana patch. This is not good

Location, a good location is a must. Do you aim for expats, or local Chinese, or a mixture probably. What kind of food are you intend to serve?
Very important here in China.
curious about your progress, let me know if you have some result yet.

yeah!nik is right!
But if you open a bar hereinafter is important factors:
1.where u gonna open it?pudong or puxi?puxi would be better....
the pkace is very important.
2.drinks.....
3.the style....what kind of style?prefer havo enough place to dance, and the air not too bad! So,maybe could have outside table and seat in summer, that will be cool,if talk with friends outside in the middnight in summer.if wanna dance we could go inside.
4.music.....what kind of music?it seems latin music is pop now.
5.serivice....Prefer have place to put my bags and coat for free. Some place charde for extra cost.don't like this.Sad
6.pretty gals and hot guys.....here I mean the AD,As I most bars in shanghai have ever invited this kind of good looking person,in order to atrract more people:)

Anyway,it's not so easy to open a bar...you should think over everyting, and make plans, even consider anything could happen in the future.normally, the 1~4 month is bad, even loss money! So ,should have enough cash to flow!If one day i have nothing to do,and have extra money,i will open one too.hahaha

good luck!Smile
