but as it stands now the test is more a farce than anything with questions that determine your knowledge of navigating a puddle so as to best not splash pedestrians or your ability to select the appropriate turn signal for the turn you are making (left vs right)... |

Already now, today, citizens of certain EU countries do not have to pass the test.
From Jan 1st, will they just skip the theory test or also skip the medical examination ? |

EU citizens have to pass a written multiple choice test and also a test on a course presenting you with ice and aquaplanning, not as simple as in the old days (I'm from Denmark and the rules have been getting tougher every year) Besides that if you do something wrong in Europe the fine is huge i.e. speeding at more than 70% - Drivers License is gone and the fine is a one moth salary before tax! (famous Finnish CEO got a 175.000,- Euro fine for speeding in Finland) |
