I don't know of a British style Christmas Dinner, why not cook British dish and invite your guests at your place. Better way to spend Christmas!
Most of the restaurants and hotels charge more than RMB 450. Actually I am also looking at other offers for a decent Christmas Day Dinner. Here's my list.
Pier One which is far from the central charges RMB 485 (4 courses set meal) and RMB 598
(5 courses set meal). No drinks included.
Radisson Plaza ranges from RMB 580/person - for RMB 1380/ person (depends on what cuisine interest you)
JW Marriot's Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant seafood dinner set menu at RMB 388/person is available on Christmas Eve
I am also considering
This site's Christmas Dinner on Dec. 23rd at RMB 288
(8 courses buffet, desserts w/ drinks) at Hugo French Cuisine
How much does Westin charge? |

you could find out if any of the pubs are doing something for christmas - which they probably are. British Bulldog, O'Malleys, Blarney Stone, Big Bamboo, Blue Frog. They are probably the best bet for getting a proper english roast dinner. actually i know that bamboo has a seletion of different roasts on their regualr menu anyway.
just call those places and ask them. |

Very few places seem to be offering turkey etc. Most seem to be offering the same western fare but with a bit of tinsel and then charging over the odds.
Mind you I dont like turkey that much and it really is not that traditional, another American shoe in. Roast beef, pork, venison, goose would be more British.
I have been looking for a Christmas pudding, but not one in sight. |

The Blarney Stone's Xmas dinner with turkey is about RMB280, I think. As Shanghaiceltic mentioned, have never had proper Xmas pudding in Shanghai, though the Aussie chef at Sashas may be dishing it up, possibly even with sterilized 1RMB coin inside. |
