| Post subject: Tailored Suits |
Hi,
I would like to have some tailored suits made here in Shanghai. I visited the Fabric Market on LuJiaBang Lu and found that the quality wasn't of the standard I wanted!
Does anybody have any reccomendations of a first class tailor in Shanghai?
Thanks
James |

I recommend you check what buttons they will use. I had a nice suit made on Maoming Lu but they used v cheap plastic buttons which made the suit look cheap too - of course you can change them - but getting round to it... |

The one on Dongping Lu is very good. Never had one done there but seen their work. Great stuff. French owned and run. About 3 doors up from the Blarney Stone |

Anyone tried the new one on Hengshan Lu, couple of doors down from Zapata's? Used to be "Secret Garden" I think. |

Fabric market is more hit and miss and their selection of fabrics is ok at best.
Best recommendation is:Original Dave's Tailor at No. 6, Lane 288, WuYuan Rd.(near WuKang Rd.)
Tel: 5404-0001
Daily 10:00-20:00
This is the original guy who built the name that the one in the Portman center knocked off. |

This is the original guy who built the name and reputation for "Dave's Tailor". The Portman one is unfortunately the copy. |
