| Post subject: How to go surve the internet with China Mobile |
You can use either GPRS or WLAN:
I. For gprs:
(1)If you want to use your mobile phone as a terminal,please modify the essential settings first:
APN:CMNET
IP:10.0.0.172

Generally the usage will be chased at 3 cent per killobyte(KB) and charged to your phone bill.
You can also add a bolt on to your tariff and benefit from discounts on data charges:

(2)If you have a laptop, you can use our "E To Go™" service.
You can either buy a single-mode or dual-mode PCMCIA card(Sony Ericsson GC75 or GC79) from us and get 50% discount of the Data package for one year.The monthly rental of the data package is 200 RMB for 2000 megabytes(MB) and function.The actual connection speed is around 30-40 killobytes per second(KB/S).Service Hotline: 021-65088881.You can go to the second floor of NO.439 on TianTong An Road(Monday to Friday) for registration.
Device Connection,Parameter setting and use methods:
1.Confirm your GPRS or dual-mode PC card and data SIM card is working properly
2.Insert the SIM card into the GPRS or dual-mode PC card, then push the PC card into the PCMCIA slot of the laptop
3.Install the client software on the laptop according to the Installation CD and Guide Book when you purchase the GPRS or the dual-mode PC card”»
4.Please follow these steps to setup the of GPRS network(There is a symbol on the client software indicating the strength of the signal
6.Activate the GPRS connection
7.Visit the Internet,Intranet and other applications
II. For WLAN(only for the Gotone and M-Zone User):
Feature:
1.Unlimited wireless broadband internet access at any China Mobile Hotspot within China.
Hotspot provides high speed wireless Internet Access in convenient public locations like coffee shop, book store, airport, hotel lobby or other venues.
2.The data transfer rate can be up to 11Mbps.
3.Dual-Mode Autoswitching
When leaving the Hotspot area,connection still can be established by using "E To Go™" service all over China with a dual-mode PC card.
4.Easy Payment
All the usage will be charged to the phone bill.
5.With the built-in encryption,data transfer can be assured with high security.
WLAN is authorized through Wi-Fi and supports IEEE 802.11b protocol by using external (ex:PCMCIA interface) or built-in(inside the laptop) PC card.
Please enter the user name and password to log in.
The username for the internet account is your mobile phone number and the password is the default one when you applied for the WLAN service.
Password Application: send ”sqwlan” to 1866
Password Modification: send "xgwlanmm +orginal password+new password" to 1866
Password Replacement:send “czwlanmm” to 1866
The messaging is not case sensitive,but the password is.
Just do the following Steps:
1. Install the WLAN PC card on the laptop or PDA properly
2. Using your mobile phones to get the password
3. Enter the web site address you want to visit in the browser
4. The interface of China Mobile Portal will appear automaticlly
5. Please submit your mobile phone number and password
6. You can go surfing after the confirmation
The usage will be chased at 0.20 Yuan per minute.
Configurations for Sony Ericsson GC79:
WLAN
1.There will be a green "W" icon on the right bottom of your screen if there is a WLAN signal after the GC79 driver is installed.
2.No need to setup anything while connecting to internet. Just open the Internet Explorer and you will be connected to the Login page of WLAN automaticlly.
3.Submit your mobile phone number and password to log in.There every thing will be ok.
GPRS
1.Double click the "GC79 Manager” after install the GC79 desktop software
2.Click the "Connection Wizard" or select "Edit"--->"Connection wizard"
3.Select "Create a new connection" , change the connection name to “GPRS”(Custom) and Click"Next Step".
4.Change connection type to “GPRS”,select the network as China Mobile and select “Next Step”
5.Change APN to CMNET and select “Next step”
6.Leave the user name , password blank and select ”Next step”
7.Click "Finish" after the "successful" dialogue box appears
8.return to the “GC79 Manage status” dialogue box
9.Stop the WLAN service and select the "GPRS” created just now and click ”Connection”
10.The current status appears after the connection is sucessfully established.
Configurations GPRS for GC75:
1.Double click the "GC75Manager” after install the GC75 desktop
2.Click the "Connection Wizard" or Select "Edit"--->"Connection wizard"
3.Select "Create a new connection" and change the connection name to “GPRS”(Custom) and Click "Next Step".
4.Change connection type to ”GPRS-General Packet Radio Service” ,select the network as ”China Mobile” and click ”Next Step”
5.Change APN to cmnet and click “Next step”
6.Leave the user name , password blank and click ”Next step”
7.Click "Finish" after the "successful" dialogue box appears
8.return to the “GC75 Manage status” dialogue box and select the "GPRS” created just now” and click “Connection”
9.The current status appears after the connection is sucessfully established. |
